Book 3} Chapter 19
Doomed
運命

(Doomed in Japanese changed to Fate, gah eerie)

Norman, Ray, and I nodded to each other. I shakily stood up. Norman grabbed my hand to help me up.
We went over with Emma.

"I'm sorry! I was being naive. I didn't fully grasp the situation. I wasn't prepared to believe in you guys. Thank you for believing in me and thanks for making me realize this," she told them.

"I want to apologize too," Norman said, his hand still linked with mine. I nodded to Don but didn't meet his eyes.
"Oh! No... Well... I'm sorry I lost it and punched you. Are you okay? Of course you aren't! We should go treat your face," Don told both of us.
"It'll be okay," Norman said, I nodded again.

"I'm also sorry about acting on our own," Gilda said.
"Yeah. Of course Ray would get mad. So we're really..." they bowed their heads in repentance.

"Come on, Ray," Norman said with a smile.
"Argh, it's fine! Even if the worst happens, I'll take care of it," Ray growled. "I'm also... sorry for the other things I did. I apologize," he then added.

"Now that we're being honest with each other... Can I confirm something? If we mess up, we die. The outside is going to be horrible. It's a world full of enemies. Even so, will you run away with us?" Emma asked.

"Of course we will!" They said in unison. Norman smiled and I did the same.
"And we'll work hard so you can trust us more," Don said.
"So let us help," Gilda added.
"Thanks!" Emma exclaimed.

"Next up is the plan to scope out the vicinity. I want to ask the two of you to do something," Norman said.

Wednesday, November 1

"I feel better now that we told them the truth," Emma said with a smile.
"Yeah," Norman agreed. We were outside doing the laundry.

I was too absorbed in my thoughts to even notice they were talking.
Not that what they said mattered at the time.

Time Skip

"Uh, Norman? Scoping out the vicinity means that we're going to climb the wall and look outside, right? What about the tracking devices?" Gilda asked.

"For that... we just have to make sure they don't check them," I replied.
"Exactly. We'll have both Mom and Sister Krone looking somewhere else. We'll create a situation where they would never be looking at their trackers. And quickly inspect the trackers during that time," Norman explained.

"But how?" Don asked.
"We'll have Ray stall Mom. He'll give her false information," Norman said.

"But... Even if Ray deals with Mom. What about Sister Krone?" Don asked as we walked through the forest.
"Yeah, if she finds out... we'll be doomed for sure, right?" Gilda said.

"Don't worry. I have an idea about that," Norman reassured them.
We heard a swish as we saw Sister Krone come out from behind a tree.
"Do you need something?" I asked her.

"I saw it. And I heard your entire conversation in the dining hall. The target was all six of you!" she said with a smirk.
{ She knows. We're doomed. }

"Norman. Emma. Ray. Y/n. Gilda. Don. The five of us..." she paused and neared me, "Do you want to join forces?" she asked.
"What?"
