Reader's POV

"Go!"
Yuugo told us.

Lucas was limping.
I tried my best to help him run with me.

Yuugo stayed a while away from us, shooting at the man to give us time.

We got inside the paths. Yuugo got in front of us and starting shooting at the men,
I helped his side and Lucas got our backs.

Then, my eyes went wide as I saw something enter. And before I knew it, Lucas had grabbed both Yuugo and I and brought us down.

Rocks crumbled a top of us, and I stayed close to Lucas's embrace.

A man came up to us, and Yuugo, pretending to be dead, shot him before he could check us.

Yuugo got Lucas and I both up.
Lucas was the most hurt, so we helped him run with us.

Yuugo was practically dragging Lucas while I kept up.

"Shit,"
I muttered, throwing my gun down.
I'd run out of bullets and they were still shooting at us.

My dagger wouldn't help with that much.

"Lucas. Lucas! Hang in there!"
I called out, rushing behind them.

"I'm not going to make it... I have internal damage. And I can't move my feet,"
Lucas started.

I looked at him, gritting my teeth.

"Please leave me. Or else you'll be a sitting duck. On your own, you two can survive,"
He said.

I knew Yuugo wouldn't let that happened, so I let him talk. Of course, I wouldn't either, but I couldn't be as stubborn as he.

"Like hell I will. I already did that 13 years ago. Left you and ran.
Do you know how much I regretted it? And cursed myself?
I have no intention of letting you die alone. And I'm not surviving alone,"
Yuugo said.

"Whether we live or die... we're going to be together until the end.
I'll never leave you again. Come on,"
Yuugo finished.
"That goes for you too, little potato,"
He quickly added.

Tears rolled down my face quickly.
I gave a best smile and nodded.

"There's only two of them left!"
"Got it."
"Let's take them down."

I took Lucas's gun and aimed at the man.
I shot at them, running backwards.

Tears blocked my vision slightly, but I didn't let that stop me.
