Reader's POV

[ 3rd Day of Travel ]

We were all exhausted from the walking, I had gotten off of Ray's back today to let him feel free.

But... everyone was tired from walking.
And our pace was getting worse.

We have such a larger group this time so it was harder. 

I fiddled with my bracelet. 
We were all stressed.

And I tried my best to be happy.
But I couldn't.

When I tried to look for Yuugo or Lucas in the group, I would be reminded that they were gone.
And when I thought of them... I felt empty.

Either way, we can't afford to rest.
We have to protect everyone.
So that we don't have to lose anymore family.

I also tried my best not to fall asleep, but I simply couldn't handle that.
It was like back at Grace Field.

My unknown depression caused me to sleep for long periods of time and to not eat.
And that's what was happening right now.

I would start to fall asleep randomly and someone would have to nudge me awake.
It was normally Nigel, Gillian, or Oliver that did so.

Either Gillian or Sandy would be the ones to try and cheer me up.
It worked, and I would smile, but that would soon end.

Violet and Nigel looked at the food we had. Barely any.
"What a poor sight..."
Nigel muttered.

"The season itself is harder too,"
Violet said.

"Sorry, everybody, we'll go look for some more. You all stay here!"
Emma said, starting to head off.

"Emma! Please let us help to find food!"

I stayed silent, and Gillian soon joined my side.
I gave her a smile, if I could pretend I was happy, she wouldn't worry.

Gillian patted my shoulder and then continued on her way.

Then, there was a weird noise.

"EEK EEEEEK"

I looked up, raising a brow. 

"There! This way!"

"What?!"
Emma asked with confusion.

"Hurry! That sound may be monkeys!"

"huh? We'll eat monkeys?!"
don asked.

"No!"
Yvette said.

I stayed in my place, raising a brow at them as they ran past me.
I sighed and looked back at Ray, heading over to him.

He smiled at me.

Emma and everyone soon came back with more food.

I sat down next to Nigel, taking the food.
"You better actually eat this time, Y/n,"
he told me.

"I'll try,"
I said with a smile.

"Don't try. Do, Y/n!"
he said encouragingly.

I chuckled and nodded, starting to eat my food.

I barely ate any of it, ending up giving the rest to Nigel.

[ 8th Day of Travel ]

I was asleep on Ray's back, holding onto him tightly. 

Then, I woke up to Ray shouting orders.
"Everyone, stay here! We'll be back!"
Ray yelled.

I looked back, seeing Don was following.
"Don!! Now!"
he said.

"Roger!"

"Ray, what's going on?" 
I asked softly, looking up.

Then, I noticed it.

The horrible feeling of demons being around. 

We stayed back, my eyes widened to see two humans being surrounded by demons.
