Reader's POV

"Hey, we're heading to the Seven Walls, right?"
Ray asked as we came to a stop.

"Yeah."
Emma and I nodded.

"And we opened the door to the entrance and went in, right?"

"Yeah."

"So this is supposed to be beyond that door."

"Yeah. This is supposed to be the pitch-black part in the ceiling paintings."
Emma said.

"Yeah."
Ray said.

"Then how do you explain that?"
Ray asked.

"I don't know. What could this mean?"
I muttered softly.

     I sighed as I tried to write the letter. There was no way I could do this without thinking of the endless possibilities of how it would turn out. The first being, I could get friendzoned horribly and would have to live with the fact that he knows my feelings. Then, the second, he could say no and stop being my friend. Lastly, the third, he could have the same feelings for me and happy land yay! Note the sarcasm.

    Honestly, I had no hope he would like me back, so I was leaning towards the first possibility. Since I don’t want to lose a valuable friend… I took a deep breath, then let it out, then repeated it about ten times since I had lost my train of thought. I popped up as there was a knock on my window. Usually, I would've gotten a bat and carefully looked out, but today I knew exactly who it was and I opened it immediately. Jay clambered inside my room, almost falling as his foot got caught in the curtain.

    “Hi!” he said with a bright smile. “Hey,” I said with a chuckle, helping him untangle his foot. He looked around my room, then he smirked. “I thought you weren’t out yet?” he asked, motioning to the somewhat falling apart bisexual pride flag hanging on the wall. I thought about it for a split second. Technically, I never came out, they found out and are telling me “it’s just a phase.”

    “They found out when Julie came over,” I said with a sigh.

    “Aw man, that sucks… Where’s Jules now?” he asked, jumping onto my bed. “No idea. She broke up with me after,” I told him, plopping down beside him. Jay sat up immediately. “How rude! She’s not worth it,” he told me, an angry look washing over his face. I smiled and shrugged.

    “I know,” I told him. “You’re not heartbroken?” he asked with surprise. “Nope!” I replied, smiling. Yeah, tell that to myself a week ago when I sobbed for an hour straight. “Aww damn it, I wanted an excuse to buy ice cream,” he said with a fake sigh. I bonked him on the head before standing up. “I’ll get you some.” I told him, putting my socks on. His eyes lit up like a Christmas tree, well, a working one. “You’re a goddess, Ellise,” he told me. I rolled my eyes, letting out a small chuckle, although I felt something off. “Right.”
