Like a Daisy
Like a daisy,
If I were, if I could be,
Would I dance, as it dances,
To the laughing and the lyrics of the wind?
In the sun's silver light;
Through the blue breathless night;
Would I stand, straight and tall,
Would I smile, shine for all?
Would my beauty be as bright?
Would my fragrance ne'er take flight?
Like a daisy, let me be,
Let me truly, be that free.
Let me dance, as it dances,
To the laughing and the lyrics of the wind!
