I Missed What?

Arya lowered herself quietly over the edge of the balcony that ajoined her bedroom at Wayne Manor. Bruce, had banned her from seeing Prim until school resumed the following Monday.
Arya herself had just come back from her weekend vacation with her parents, and then to be told that she couldn't see her bestie? Yeah right.
Besides, Prim had told her on the phone that she'd wanted to tell her something over the phone.
Didn't Tim also say he wanted to tell me something? To bad he was out on patrol with Damien. Oh well, he can tell me later!  She reflected happily.
She was almost to the edge of the property! Yes! Running the last few feet she used the momentum to help her flip over the metal gates that blocked off the Manor from the rest of Gotham.
She landed in a perfect crouch on the other side. Looking over her shoulder she smirked at the ridiculously easy obstacle.
"Not ba-aaaaahhh!" She jumped out of her skin as she came face-to-face with Damien Wayne.
He stared at her blankly before crossing his arms in disapproval. The assassin eyed her up and down, taking in her Lil' Hoodie costume,"Peasant, where do you think you're going dressed like that, in the middle of the night, attempting to avoid being caught?"
Scratching her neck in embarrassment while shifting from foot to foot Arya attempted to come up with an excuse,"I..uh...well..."
"You what?" He raised an eyebrow mockingly, feeling a sense of satisfaction at watching his niece squirm.
"You see-" she started causing the ten year old to roll his eyes.
"Let me guess," he cut her off shortly, "You want to see Primrose and Father said no. So you decided to go against Father's wishes and sneak out to meet up with her?"
Her jaw dropped, "Yes. Exactly! How did you know?"
"Just go you imbecile, you're annoying me with your babbling," he waved her off.
She looked at him with stars in her eyes, "Oh my God! Really?! You're the best! C'm'ere let me give you a hug!"
He glared at Arya causing her to freeze mid-step,"Maybe I'll just go."

         **************************

Ughhh! I can't believe I was so stupid! I should have been quieter! Arya seethed.
Glancing down at the holo computer imbedded in her glove she realized that she'd missed the meeting spot by three roofs.
Nimbly making her way back to the correct location she landed with a soft thud. Pocketing the grappling gun, she let her eyes scan the roof platform for Primrose. Honestly she wasn't certain why Prim would choose a roof to hang out, the red head always wanted to chat at the coffee shop or go see a movie. Not sit on a windy, boring roof.
Changing out of her hero attire, she shivered as she threw on a pair of fleece lined jeans, a t-shirt and a jacket.
She would have much preferred to stay in her Lil' Hoodie costume, but Dad and Grandpa would have a canary if she let Arya find out her identity.
Ten minutes later she'd just about had it. Not only had Prim not texted or called her, but also she'd ignored Arya's phone calls making Arya begin to doubt whether or not the youngest Gordon was going to show at all.
"Sorry I'm late," Arya turned as she heard Primrose's voice, but frowned confused at what she saw, "Batgirl??"
Glancing around Arya asked, "What are you doing here, and I thought you'd retired?"
"Aw. I'm almost insulted that you can't recognize me," Batgirl chuckled.
Narrowing her eyes warily, Arya raised a brow, "Should I know you?"
Batgirl pulled back her cowl causing a low gasp to escape Arya's mouth as her brain connected all the dots.
"WAIT, YOU'RE THE NEW BATGIRL? BUT HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY BE BATGIRL? IS THE PREVIOUS BATGIRL OKAY WITH YOU TAKING HER PLACE? THIS IS SO AWESOME!" She shrieked causing the other to flinch.
"Yes. My mother insisted I learn how to defend myself so she hired several different kinds of martial arts teachers and once I returned to Gotham I vowed to help those in need like my father would have wanted. Yes Barbra is okay with this. And it is awesome! We can be crime fighting besties!" Prim responded her voice slowly rising with excitement with each question she answered.
Arya took a step back as warning bells echoed in her mind, "Wait, you know Barbra was Batgirl? And why would you say 'we can be crime fighting buddies'?"
"Barbra told me she used to be Batgirl when I confronted her with picture I found in the attic of her with her cowl down in full costume next to Batman and Nightwing. She gave her blessing after I proved I was capable of taking on her mantle. As for how I learned your identity," Prim paused to scratch her neck bashfully, "I wish I could by using my amazing detective skills but it was something much simpler: a grapevine. Bruce talked to my uncle who told Barbra who then told me."
"Oh," Tim had mentioned he'd wanted to talk to her about Prim, more than likely it was about how she was the new Batgirl. That would also explain why Grandpa didn't want her to hang out with Prim for a while.
"This is so wild! Amazing but wild! I never would've seen this coming!" Arya laughed pulling Primrose into a hug.
The small brunette then proceeded to jump up and down with excitement, rapid fire questioning Prim.
They spent until daybreak just sitting there next to each other chatting about random things until eventually they both parted ways.
Smiling happily to herself as she waved goodbye to the spirited new vigilante Arya couldn't help but think about how much more interesting life was going to be at the Cave. "Guess we'll find out in time."

        ****************************

Damien sighed to himself as he watched Arya take off after he caught her at the gate.
Was it unwise to let her go? Father would never approve. Whatever, it's too late now.
He'd just gotten back from patrol with Drake when he'd seen a dark shadow flip over the gate, he recognized who it was after a moment or two and confronted the escapee.
Luckily for Arya, Damien had had a dispute with Red Robin causing the elder to enter Wayne Manor long before Damien had even reached the gate.
Drake... Damien let out another sigh, he honestly hadn't meant to snap at him. He'd just lost his cool after Tim had been teasing him about needing a girlfriend for three hours.
"It's really all his fault, why should I feel bad," Damien muttered as he stormed into the Batcave.
Changing into normal clothes he briefly waved at Dick as he passed him on the stairwell.
     "Hey Dami-" Dick began cheerfully.
"Hello, and goodbye, I wish not to be disturbed Grayson," The assassin interrupted.
Dick's forehead crinkled a little but he stopped talking, briefly patting Damien's shoulders before carrying on down the stairs.
Nightwing knew Damien liked his personal space so whenever his brother requested to be left alone he respected his wishes. He'd tried to spend time with him once when Robin had asked for space, Dick ended up having a shuriken thrown at his head.
"Kids..." Nightwing mumbled before going about his business.

Poison Ivy frowned at the vial of blood in her hand.
Red Hood had dropped the vial full of Arya's D.N.A off a few hours earlier.
After running a multiple tests on blood sample, and was baffled by the results. The child should have been showing signs of similar abilities to Ivy's plant control, but for some odd reason the genes were dormant.
"What's wrong? Ya look stressed!” Harley Quinn asked bear hugging the scientist from behind.
"My serum... It's mutating itself into something completely off the charts. It's intriguing!" Ivy exclaimed gesturing at the vial."I need to study the actual specimen to better understand this anomaly."
"Do you want me to kidnap someone Ives?” Harley asked her face lighting up like a kid who received a Christmas present.
Ivy smirked, "No need, she'll be brought to us."
