"Sooo, a dad huh?" Dick commented off-handedly.
Raising his head at an maddeningly slow place Jason looked up and over at his big brother with a irritated expression etched on his face.
After having stood there for three hours without saying a word. (Amazing I know right?!) This was what Dick wanted to know?
After seven fucking years, thats the first question my brother can think to ask me? Jason thought to himself in disbelief.
Then a thought struck him, "So what if I'm a dad?"
Dick looked non-plussed for a minute, he was shocked his brother had actually answered him.
"I'm just surprised, I  guess, that's all. I've never really pictured you as a 'father figure'," Dick confessed, scratching the back of his neck.
"Are you implying you don't believe that I could make a good father?" Jason demanded in an accusatory tone, lifting a jet black eyebrow, daring Nightwing to say that.
Nightwing moved away from the glass barrier  between them and leaned against the cold, stone wall; letting himself slide down into a sitting position on the floor.
"I never said that Jason," he whispered. "I never said that."
"But you thought it, didn't you, Dickiebird," Jason sneered.
Dick's brilliant blue eyes flashed in sheer anger, as the dam holding back all his pent-up emotions broke. "NO! I DIDN'T JASON!"
Jumping to his feet he stormed over to Jason and slammed his palm against the glass.
Outwardly Jason didn't even flinch. But he was internally stunned at such an open display of violence from his brother.
"Listen here you douchebag, I just found out my little brother--"
"Do we have to do all the sappy heart-to-heart, 'I missed you' bullshit? Cause I'd really rather not." Jason interjected, rolling his eyes.
"SHUT THE HELL UP! I just found out that your alive, and have been for seven years-seven years Jay!- and not once, in all this time let us know, let me know," Dick ranted, fury coursing through his entire being causing him to shake with anger.
"And then, I find out that you have a daughter. That I have a niece.." Dick's voice trailed off as he stared down at the floor.
Taking a deep breath he lifted his eyes once again to his brother, "You let me mourn your death, for seven years JayJay. Every morning I've woken up, filled with guilt, wishing I could have saved you, and now you show up..."
Jason froze mid turn, despite appearing all cold and uncaring; he had never  intended to actually hurt his brother. Maybe rough him up a bit if he got in the way, but that was it.
They had been close when he was younger. And those memories had always stayed with him
He hadn't know that it was his death that had finally broken his eternally happy brother.
All he'd ever thought about when he came back was how Bruce had betrayed him by allowing the Joker to live. He'd let his hatred of Bruce consume him.
He initially had planned on retaliating, his plan was simple: he would take over Gotham's crime syndicate, because the only way to lower crime was to control it; then he would take out anyone who stood in the way of his takeover. Then the finale could go down, he would confront Bruce, and make him choose between shooting Jason or the Joker. That was it.
Fortunately he met Roy and Kory who, literally, saved him from going down that grim path.
But Dick..Oh my god, what have I'd done? What have I done..
As this all came crashing in like an emotional tidal wave, Jason's anger faded away. Well momentarily.
It all seemed, pointless now. All the hate, all the drama. Pointless.
"Dick...I'm, I'm sorry," Jason choked out.
The acrobat frowned, lifting his head to look  his brother in the eye.
"What?" His breathe hitched as he asked this, uncertain if his ears had deceived him. Jason had spoken so softly.
"I'm sorry, I'm so, so sorry," tears were now running down Jason's face as he began to babble mindlessly. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry...I'm sorry!"
Dick gave him a sad smile as he blinked away tears of his own, "Me too JayJay, me too."
And at this moment,  they were no longer enemies. They were no longer hero and villain. No longer Nightwing and The Red Hood.
Oh no, at this moment, they were nothing more than two brothers.

Almost there, according to this, Kory thought to herself as she flew towards were the signal location being transmitted from Arya was supposedly coming from.
Like she would really let her daughter go with Jason without a back-up plan. Puh-lease.
A week after Arya had been found; she, Jason, and Roy had decided that in case anything ever happened to Arya, they should set up the means to be able to find her.
It had to be something undetectable; something no one would ever be able to find.
So, they implanted a micro-transmitter into Arya's first adult tooth. That way it would be on her person at all times.
It was wired so that if Arya didnt come within a five mile radius of their base every two days, the homing beacon would be instantly activated, and the signal broadcasted to them.
Hovering in the air for a moment, Kory paused to check her coordinates, causing her flame red hair to fly in front of her face from the sudden stop.
Her eyes flickered away from the transmitter for a second to take in the sunrise.
Three days, her daughter had been officially gone for three days with no form of contact.
Her gaze hardened at thought, glancing down once more at the location she whispered:
    "Don't worry sweetheart, Momma's coming."
