Confused, But Not Alone

"She's not ready yet Master,"  the redhead seethed, her voice just barely still being able to be considered respectful.
"Ohh, I think she is. The transformation will take time. And after the last little fiasco, I want my future heir protected at all times; if she dies before the proper time to turn her arrives..you will die as well," the other replied, his face hidden by the shadows, he seemed to be melding with them, constantly flickering between actually being there and fading into darkness.
"Remind me, my Lord, why this girl is so vitally important again?" She asked.
"She is the last remaining descendant with my family's blood. She will be stronger than any other vampire I turn due to our blood connection. Making Arya Todd the perfect heir to my legacy," his voice was rich, but held a slight lisp as if English was not his primary language.
"I see," she murmured to herself more than to him, "Very well then, when do you wish me to start?"
"As soon as possible. You've already inserted yourself into the city commissioner's life?"
"Of course my Lord. I altered his memories so that I am Commissioner Gordon's late brother's only child. Whom her mother chose to shelter from the horrors of Gotham by sending her away to a boarding school as well as a primary school in Japan for 11 years after her father's death. After all these years she has finally returned to come stay with her Uncle and her cousin."
"Excellent my dear. I knew I chose you for a reason. But how does being related to the commissioner help you get close to the heir?" The high vampire questioned.
She chuckled, "Barbra Gordon was the late Batgirl until the Joker paralyzed her from the waist down. Her younger cousin can now take up her mantel."
Dracula smiled, sending chills down the female vampire's spine. "Then let it begin. Miss Gordon."

     ****************************

It had been two months since the Joker incident.
Dick had officially started dating Kory again, which left Arya a bit confused: because if her mom was dating her uncle, did that make him her dad? And if so what about her dad? Did she have two dad's now? Arya decided that all in all it wasn't worth the headache to figure out once you brought all the adoption factors into the equation.
Bruce and Jason's relationship was a bit tense at times, but they seemed to be getting along. Jason had actually started to look forward to seeing his family every now and then when he and Arya would drop by.
Roy... well. He's Roy. Not really sure what else to say.
Tim and Arya where officially crime-fighting partners now. Roy had pointed out to her parents that it would be better for Arya to join the vigilante regime with them to help her along than to allow her to go of by herself again.
Tim and Alfred had been more than happy to accommodate the new hero with a suit (I don't usually like adding in pictures mid-chapter but I thought it was too adorable to not show you):

In Arya's mind, the suit was perfect, it showed she was a Bat member, but also gave off the slight ruggedness of the Outlaws. The only bad thing about her new get-up was that over the last two months they'd had to adjust the size three times due to her unnaturally fast growth spurt.
A small burst of pain jarred Arya out of her thoughts and back to the present. Rubbing the back of her head to soothe the pain she glared at the culprit.
"Tt. You have to pay more attention if you want to stay a hero in Gotham. Also Drake has been trying to get your attention for the past five minutes," Damien said in a uninterested tone. But his lips held a slight hint of a smile at the pout she gave him.
He'd never admit, but Damien had actually grown quite fond of the sarcastic little ray of sunshine.
"I'm sorry Timmy, I kind of spaced out there," Arya apologized with a embarrassed smile. The Robin had been spending the day attempting to teach her how to improve her hand-to-hand combat skills, they were currently on a lunch break however and she'd accidentally tuned him out while her mind wandered.
He waved it off, "Oh it's fine, BUT-" he continued, stroking his chin while giving her a smug look, "I refuse to apologise for eating your cookies while you where day dreaming."
Horror coursed through her entire body as she looked down at her plate to see only crumbs remaining from the cookies Alfred had baked earlier.
She turned her mournful gaze back to Tim who's shoulders were shaking with silent laughter. Her eyes narrowed, reaching into her utility belt she slowly, very slowly pulled out a batarang.
Tim chuckled nervously as he eyed the weapon in her hand his adam's apple bobbing, "A-arya what are you-"
Damien cut him off, clearly amused at what was about to transpire, "Just run Drake. Run."
"For...my...COOKIES!" Arya threw it at Tim, he narrowly missed being hit as the batarang whizzed past his ear.
Tim. Ran. And Arya followed close behind screaming about getting justice and how he would pay dearly for taking what was rightfully hers.
