"Worried" didn't even begin to cover the panic Kory was feeling when Jason and Arya didn't show after three days.
"Angry" was also way to mild of a description, she was furious at Jason for taking Arya with him to Gotham.
And she was pissed at Roy for convincing her that it might be a good idea to let Arya go with Jason while he was in such an erratic mood.
How could I have been so stupid?! Kory berated herself, unconsciously hovering in the air.
"Gahhhhh!" She yelled out her frustration; spinning towards the wall she slammed her glowing green fist into it, creating a crater in the concrete wall.
"What the fuck!" Roy came flying down the hall bow in hand to face..Kory.
Kory glared at him. Roy gulped, "I mean..'What the hell?'"
His eyes widened as he saw the massive dent in the living room wall, "WHAT THE HELL KORY?!"
He ran over to inspect the damage, Kory dropped to the ground, walking up behind him she placed a hand on his shoulder in an apologetic gesture.
Roy sighed, he knew she was sorry. He also knew that this would not be the only time she'd lose her temper if Jason didn't show up with Kory's baby girl soon.
"I apologize Roy, I should have had better control of my emotions," Kory spoke up breaking the silence.
Running his hand through his orangey-red hair he gave her a weak smile, "It's okay, I miss them too. "
"What about...?" Her voice trailed off as she nodded at the ruined wall.
Roy's smile brightened drastically, "We'll just have Jason pay for it."********************
Arya was laughing so hard at the joke Tim had just told that she literally had tears streaming down her face as she struggled to breathe.
She and her father had been brought to separate, sound proof cells after their first escape attempt.
Later on when Red Robin had come to drop off some food they'd both immediately hit it off with one another.
Soon they were laughing and joking with each other like they were old friends.
"You know, it's hard to believe you're a Bat. I mean isn't there like a written rule that you must be 'dark, mysterious, and brooding'?" Arya asked wiping away her tears of laughter.
Tim, his own blue eyes sparkling with amusement added, "Don't forget 'rude and highly sarcastic'."
"Is Damien is always as arrogant as he was earlier?" Arya questioned flashing back to Damien's 'unsavory' reaction to the attempted escapade.
Leaning forward a bit in her chair she waited to hear Tim's answer.
Bringing his hand up to his jaw he rubbed it as he contemplated her question.
"Most of the time. But occasionally he can be civil. Almost."
Arya nodded, opening her mouth to ask another question but Tim beat her to it,"How are you related to my brother if he only died seven years ago, yet your like..ten-twelve?"
"You thought...jeez no! He's not my actual dad, I'm adopted," Arya clarified.
Tim sighed in relief. He had begun to imagine a very disturbing scenario of Jason 'doing it' at thirteen.
Refocusing himself to the task at hand he continued his evaluation/ friendly interrogation of his niece. Although, if he was being honest with himself he truly was enjoying this conversation with her.
From where he was leaning against the wall Tim could track every movement the girl made.
Every muscle she twitched every inhale of breath she took could be observed seemingly unnoticed.
"I can't believe I'm an uncle. I'm to young to be an uncle," Tim said, his voice cracking with the weight of the shock as this suddenly dawned in him.
Arya snorted, "Well I can't believe I'm actually talking to my uncle; so suck it up buttercup!"
She threw her chained hands up in the air as she said this to emphasize her disbelief.
Tim sent her a small glare, despite the fact that the corners of his mouth were curling upwards.
"Oooh!" Arya brought her hands to her cheeks in mock horror, "The infamous batglare! I'm sooo scared."
"Anyway, besides Broody, The Overgrown Child and Mr. Huffy; do you have any other family?"
Tim raised an eyebrow, "Do animals count?"
Giving him a baleful expression, her chocolate brown eyes flashed with momentary annoyance she replied,"No."
Losing his playful attitude he let out a soft sigh,"No, they..they passed away."
(Meanwhile Alfred's just sitting there listening in like,"What am I? A roach?!" Jk, seriously considered doing that though)
His face betrayed the pain he had been trying to conceal for so long; that he had been concealing. Setting a invisible cloak of sadness on his shoulders.
If Arya had not been chained to the bed she would have hugged him. Anything to chase away this gloomy aura.
Gulping she whispered, "I'm sorry, I didn't know."
He shook his head back and forth bringing himself back to the present.
Seeing something at the end of the bed, Tim started towards his niece to pick up the almost forgotten food tray.
"What about you? Do you have any family besides my murderous older brother?"
Arya smiled ruefully, "Ye-p," she popped the 'p' as she nodded at his question.
"My uncle and my mom, but according to mom she and Dad adopted me when I was very little."
"How old were you when you were adopte--" Tim abruptly cut off his question as he listen we to what the comm in his ear was saying.
Glancing at Arya he brought his finger to his lips to indicate that he needed her to give him a moment.
Slowly nodding a couple of times, he uttered a few "Mhm"'s before letting out a long exasperated sigh.
"Can't you do it? Ughhh. Fine. Be right there."
Cutting off transmission he gave Arya a apologetic look, "Sorry, Mr. Broody needs me."
"Go. Besides I think the Batcave would fall without you to keep them in line," she chuckled.
They both gave each other knowing looks because although that had been a joke, it was the unfortunate truth.
When he walked out the cell door Arya smiled to herself, This is going to be an interesting weekend.
Because of course, she knew that her and her dad weren't going to be here much longer.**********************
The door opened slowly, as the dark shrouded figure began to tread across the room.
It was dead silent, you couldn't even here the the sound of his breathing as he crept quietly down the hall. A fully loaded weapon in his hands.
The sliver if moonlight that was seeping through the window illuminated part of his face, exposes his blood splattered cheeks and a jet black mask around the assassin's eyes.
Taking in a deep, yet somehow still silent, breath he stretched out his hand to pull down the lever.
The room became flooded with light, forcing him to close his eyes at the sudden pain.
He opened his eyes at a snail's pace, seeing the deserted room he yanked off his mask in fury.
His blue eyes sizzles with barely contained anger abd annoyance.
"Damn it Kory!" Roy hissed, but she was long gone and out of hearing range.
Koriand'r had left several hours ago, and she had no intentions on coming back, not until she had her daughter.Just wanted to apologize for not updating in so long! I've been so caught up with school and family matters, making it so that creating this update went VERY slowly.
