"I'll ask this once..." Posion Ivy flinched as the cold barrel of the gun was pressed against her forehead, "Where do you keep your plant documentation?"
The nature villain once known as Pamela Isley could feel her resolve slowly deteriorating as green flames inched closer and closer to her plants.
Ivy could hear the flora screaming for help, but she knew if she made one wrong move the man in front of her wouldn't hesitate to burn down her entire green house.
Not to mention, even if she did miraculously avoid a bullet going directly into her brain, she'd have to escape being captured by the other three people on the Red Hood's team.
She didn't know much about the orange skinned alien called Starfire, but the flames said enough.
Nightwing she'd dealt with before, and she knew just how far his combat abilities extended. And Poison Ivy knew that he was not someone she wanted to face without backup or at least access to her greenery.
The archer across the room, what was his name? Arsenal, she was pretty certain it was Arsenal. Whoever he was, she was willing to bet he knew exactly what he was doing with that bow, and if Red Hood missed, Arsenal most definitely would not.
Her best option at the moment, was to give them what they wanted. If they wanted to see her notes, fine. It was better than dying and leaving the plants of Gotham City with no one to protect them.
Pamela's shoulders slumped in defeat, normally she wouldn't hesitate to escape using her abilities, but some of these particular plant specimens were endangered species, and the demands being made didn't seem to high considering the price nature would pay if she denied their request.
"I keep them in a box underneath that tree," Ivy said pointing to a nearby sapling.
Red Hood tilted his head in disbelief, "You'd give them to me that easily? I find that hard to believe."
"My plants are my life, and you're threatening to kill some of my most precious specimens," Ivy pointed out bluntly.
The gun quivered against her skin as the mercenary in front of her chuckled, "They're flowers. You can always get new ones."
Ivy's greenish-yellow eyes glared at him as if trying to burn holes into his eye sockets, "Do you have family Hood? Imagine someone threatening to brutally slaughter them, what would you do...to save the ones you hold most dear?"
Jason inwardly flinched. She made an excellent point. After all, they were here to in attempt to save part of his family.
He slowly lifted the gun away from her head, causing Ivy to let out a sigh of relief, "Fine. But one wrong move and your... 'family' is dead, got it?"
Walking over to the base of the tree ivy knelt in front of it. Once she touched the ground, the soft dirt began to groan as her vines and roots pushed the metal box to the surface.
"Open it," Nightwing asked, well demanded in his 'Batman Voice'.
Quickly entering in the correct combination Ivy gently picked up her notes and placed them in Nightwing's waiting arms.
"There. You have what you wanted. Now please, get those flames away from my children!"
Jason gave Kory a miniscule nod, instantly Koriand'r let her flames die out.
"Why do you need my life's work anyway? It's not like you four care about nature." Ivy asked. To be honest, when the four vigilantes had shown up in her home, she'd expected them to kill or arrest her. When they asked her for her notes, it had baffled Ivy to no end.
"None of your motherfu-" Ivy tuned him out as she realized why they were here: the baby she'd injected nine months ago, Red Hood taking the infant from her, asking her for files. It all made sense.
Although, it was a bit shocking that the mercenaries had actually kept it, you'd think they'd have dropped it off at the nearest orphanage or something.
Glancing at Jason, Ivy gave him a dubious expression as she asked the question that was necessary in order to confirm her suspicion, "It's alive? The baby?"
Roy, Kory, and Jason all stiffened. Causing Ivy to smirk triumphantly. They may not have answered her verbally, but their body language spoke volumes.
Nightwing shot a confused glance at Kory, but didn't say anything. He had known Arya was adopted. But he had never heard the story about how it all ended up happening.
"She's dying," The orang skinned female said quietly, barely above a whisper.
Nightwing and Poison Ivy's eyes widened at this.
"Dying? What? No. That was a growth serum, it should be harmless," Ivy stated defensively. This is good, if that little brat survived, then that means I can recover months of research!
"Harmless? Did it ever occur to your grass filled brain that if someone grows to fast they're going to have a damn short lifespan?!" Jason seethed.
It hadn't actually been something Ivy had considered when she'd injected the child since she had believed the baby would still be in her care. But with the help of her leafy friends, Poison Ivy was more than sure that she could fix the flaw in her previous serum.
They were desperate. The Outlaws wouldn't have come to her if they weren't. This could turn into quite the opportunity.
Nightwing since he was standing closest to Poison Ivy, eyed her warily. He had dealt with Ivy enough times to know she had guessed they were in a grave situation, and would attempt to exploit that fact.
"I'll strike you a deal. I'll create an anti-serum to slow down your... precious little human's rapid aging process," Ivy said nonchalantly, while making a great show of studying her fingernails, "And in return, all I ask is to be able to be able to observe and run tests on her two days a month until my study is concluded."
"Absolutely not! Are you crazy?! Do you think we would willingly hand my niece over to a madwoman?" Roy scoffed, but despite his protests he looked at both of the other Outlaws to verify his outburst. Neither did.
Jason's eyes narrowed calculatingly, "How about I not shoot you right here in exchange for the cure instead?"
The nature loving red head laughed, "I can't just create it out of the blue! I need her blood, I need the right plants! Ingredients. Shoot me now and you might as well have placed a noose around your little charity case's neck."
Ivy winced as a purple and orange figure flew towards her, grabbed her by the throat, and then slammed the villain into the concrete wall; which cracked a little from the impact.
Flaming eyes reflected Ivy's own green orbs, her voice lowered in volume but held a dangerous undertone as Kory asked slowly, "Do you find this amusing?"
Gulping Ivy let out a nervous chuckle in a failed attempt to seem unaffected by Kory's display of power  "Hmm, a bit."
"I will agree to your terms." Kory said, holding up her hand to stop Roy from starting to argue with her. "But. If you double cross us or harm my daughter in any way. I will hunt you down and make you watch as I burn entire forests down. I'm sure you'll enjoy sitting helplessly by in agony as--what did you call them?--oh right, as your 'loved ones' let out dying screams."
Ivy, Jason, Roy, and Dick all paled at the dark aura coming from Starfire.
"Bro," Jason whispered over his shoulder to Nightwing, "Never piss your girlfriend off."
