~ Chapter Three ~ Roman ~

I knock on Logan's door, wings proudly unfurled. "Come in," Logan calls. I open the door and peek my head in. Logan must be doing another project, because his desk looks like a tornado hit it. There are books scattered all over and the only lights are coming from his computer and his lamp.

"Whatcha doing, nerd?" I ask.

"Researching the effects of multiple neurological disorders in a singular individual, particularly how it affects the development of their sides," Logan replies, not looking up. "Is there a pressing matter at hand?"

"Well, it's not exactly pressing, but... I have wings."

"We all do, Roman. They differ between individual sides, but they are still there. I assume you came to tell me that yours have emerged?" The logical side finally looks up. "It appears that they have." Logan adjusts his glasses. "I will take note of this. Now, if you would please leave, my research is on a very open-ended topic." I nod.

"Happy studying!" I wish before closing the door. Immediately, I race to Virgil's room.

"My Chemically Imbalanced Romance!" I call, knocking on Virgil's door. "Open up, I want to show you something!"

"This better be important!" Virgil replies before opening the door.

"Trust me, it is," I tell him, a confident smirk tugging at the corners of my mouth.

"What in the world—" Virgil stops, then blinks a couple of times, visibly shocked. Then he goes back to a neutral expression. "Roman, we all have wings. Why is this important?"

"Because they look pretty!" I'm offended that Vigil isn't as awestruck as Patton was.

"Maybe to you, but they're nowhere near as cool as Hailey's."

"I beg your pardon?! They are the most amazing wings I have ever laid eyes upon!"

Virgil sighs. "Has anyone ever told you you're a narcissist?"

"You tell me that all the time."

"Well, it's true. Your ego will be your downfall someday. Anyways, thanks for wasting my time." Virgil closes the door in my face. I scowl and return to my room.
