When I see Logan and Virgil coming back down the stairs, I leap up, a hand on the hilt of my sword. "Well?? Search or rescue?" I'm excited for either option.
"It appears the answer is search," Logan replies. I let my hand fall to my side.
"Alright, then," I say. "Assemble the search party!!!" Virgil flinches a little bit, probably from the sudden noise, but chuckles. I smirk a little bit.
"I'll get Remy," Virgil offers.
I nod. "And I'll get Emile." Virgil snaps his fingers, probably teleporting himself to wherever Remy is. I dash past Logan and head to the library, one of Emile's favorite places.
Sure enough, I see the curious sub-side reclined on a beanbag reading a book. His ankles are crossed, but that's not what catches my eye.
"What did you do to your hair this time?" I ask with a chuckle. Emile dog-ears the page and closes the book.
"Oh, do you like it? Remy helped," he replies, cheeks tinged with blush as he adds the last bit. His light brown hair is dyed with pastel pink hearts in varying sizes and angles. They don't look perfect, but this was clearly by hand, so I don't mind.
"How has your hair survived a full 24 hours without getting messed up?" I now ask, mostly for my personal benefit. Emile shrugs.
I remember why I came. "Anyways, we need you for a search party. Patton ran off." The sentence is barely out of my mouth before Emile leaps up.
"What are we waiting for then let's go!" Emile grabs my hand and practically drags me down the hallway.
Once we get downstairs, Virgil is back with Remy. I see him fidgeting with his hood, something he stops the moment he sees us.
"Emile, what happened to your hair?" Logan asks. I don't miss Remy blush.
"Just trying a new style," Emile replies nonchalantly.
"Very well, then." Logan adjusts his glasses. "Is everyone ready?" Hailey, Remy, and Emile nod.
"Ready as I'll Ever Be!" I exclaim.
"Trying not to think about the what-ifs," Virgil replies with a chuckle.
"As I expected." Logan adjusts his glasses and tie. "Very well. Let us set out."
