When Nik finally got out of the car, he couldn't look me in the eye. I laughed at him and he turned bright red.
"What's up with you?" Lan asked. When Nik didn't answer, he looked him over and spotted the problem. He looked mildly amused and soon the other two caught on.
Enzo looked at me and asked, "What did you to him?"
"Nothing," I replied, feigning innocence.
"Bullshit!" Nik screeched, his voice kinda scratchy. "I wouldn't have this problem if you weren't practically stripping in the passenger seat."
The guys just laughed their asses off and I shrugged. "I was just dancing to the music that you challenged me to put on." I smirked as Nik got flustered again.
"I didn't know that you had anything like that. I don't even have anything like that."
I ended up choking on my own spit and almost coughing up a lung from how hard I laughed. I think the people that Nik called "best friends" were in about the same condition as I was.
"Stop laughing and lets just play ball," Nik huffed and got his stuff from my car.
"Fine," Lan said. "Hey Av, wanna catch me?"
"Sure," I answered, assuming that he meant like pitching and catching. I found out how wrong I was when he came barreling toward me at full speed. He jumped on me and I caught him. He looked like he was waiting for impact with the ground but opened his eyes when it didn't come. There I was, holding Lan bridal style. "Holy shit you're heavy."
Lan hopped out of my arms. "I honestly wan't expecting you to catch me," he said, scratching the back of his neck.
"Well, I wasn't expecting you to come jump into my arms," I told him. Then I decided to tease him a bit so I stepped closer to him, gently placing my hand on his bicep and staring deeply into his eyes. "I didn't know you felt that way about me."
Lan just laughed and so did I. "Nah, you're hot and all but you're not my type."
"What do you mean 'not your type'? You're the one who keeps hitting on me."
"I was just joking around with you."
"Okay then. You have a weird sense of humor. Anyway, do you actually want me to catch for you?"
"Sure, but only if you can handle it."
I rolled my eyes and turned to get my stuff. Enzo had a slight frown on his face but I just kind of ignored it for now. I geared up and caught for Lan. Nothing really exciting happened until Enzo made a comment about baseball being harder than softball.
"Did you just say what I think you just said?" I asked, anger tinging my tone. "Don't even start that."
"Why? It is."
"Is not. The ball might be smaller therefore harder to hit but that's about the only argument. A softball is bigger so it's a little harder to throw. It's heavier and you can't wrap your hand around it as well as a baseball. That also means it doesn't go as far when you hit or throw it. And have you ever tried to pitch a softball? The first thing you learn to do, baseball or softball, is to throw overhand and that's basically all baseball pitching is. Softball pitching is over-complicated and difficult. The only good things about it is that you know where the release point is every time and it comes in a little straighter instead of an angle like baseball."
"Whoa, calm down kitty. Put away your claws. He didn't mean any disrespect," Tony said. I listened to him and calmed down a bit.
After throwing a softball around for a while, per my request, I got a text from Aus saying that he's going to go see Danni in about an hour.
