My Best Friend's Girlfriend (Camren)

Chapter 9

Camila’s POV:

2 weeks have past since the Ally-double-date-thingy. I worked extra hard to get those two together but.... Lauren's kinda distant to Ally. Ally's getting close to Lauren and Troy's already falling behind.  While me? Fake taken and Originally Single! 

Today was a beach date. More on like a double beach date. Lauren, Troy, and Ally were playing on the water while I, on the other hand, just sat there reading The Hunger Games. 

"Katniss should've ended up with Gale instead." I muttered as I flipped on the next page.

I felt someone sat beside me. All I know that it's neither Lauren nor Ally. Then that means, the one sitting beside me is.

"Hey." Troy smiled. "What'cha reading?" 

I raised the book so that he could see then went back to my original position. He nodded then wiped his face with a towel.  

"Looks like they're having fun." Troy said, obviously pointing towards Lauren and Ally. 

"Really?" I said pretending to pay attention to him. What? I'm too absorbed in reading The Hunger Games. It's pretty cool. You should try to read it. Ahemm...Anyway, back to the conversation.

"Have you ever thought that....maybe..Ally's slipping away from me? I mean... I know, Lauren's her ex and all but---" Troy asked.

"No." I said, suddenly closing the book. "Besides, you guys are pretty tight." I exagerrated the tight part but I guess he didn't notice.

"You think so?"

"Yup." I said popping the p.

Then there's this  awkward silence that fell between us. And I mean pretty...awkward.

"You've finish the book?" Troy asked breaking the ice.

"Uh-huh."

"I hate it when Rue died." What Troy said actually surprised me. 

"I never knew you've read this book before."

"Actually, I did."

"Wow really? And yes, actually that kinda sucks. Rue doesn't even deserved to die."

"Yeah." Troy said in a hushed tone. "You know the part where Gale brought a bread with an arrow stuck in it?"

"Yeah! That cracked me up!" I laughed.

"Who would've thought Gale would do that." Troy began laughing.

We began to talk about The Hunger Games. I never knew Troy knew a lot about them. At first, he was like a stranger to me and every bit of moment we had together was full of awkwardness. But now, I'm beginning to like his company.

Lauren’s POV:

"Lauren, stop that." Ally giggles filled the air as I splash water on her.

"Hmmm...Make me." I laughed.

Then I heard someone's laughter. I turned around and saw Camila and Troy. By the looks of it, I think they're having fun. I sudenly felt  anger, rage and pain all at once on my chest. 

I looked at Ally and she was busy swimming. "Hey, I'll just go get a drink. Want me to bring some for you? " 

"Nah. I'm good." She smiled.

The laughter's getting louder in every step I made towards them. "First my girlfriend then my Camzi." I mumbled. "What's next? My Mom?"

I grab a bottle of water then sat next to Camila. I guess they're still at the heat of the conversation to notice me. So I had to do it.

I wrapped my arms around Camila's waist then leaned my head on her shoulder making her jump in surprise. "Hey Troy." I managed a smile but it turned out to be a smirk.

"Hey Lauren." Troy smiled back.

"What are you doing here?" Camila whispered annoyingly. "You should be with her, you idiot."

"I'm tired." I whispered then pretend to yawn. "Can I sleep on your lap?" 

"Fine." Camila sighed. "Come here, you big baby." She giggled.

I chuckled then lied my head on Camila's lap with her arm right across my chest. I heard Troy mumbled something then went on the water to join Ally. 

"It was your chance, stupid." Camila muttered.

"I know." I said. "Isn't it bad to spend time with my best friend?"

"Actually it's not that bad---"

"Good. Problem closed." I chuckled. 

Camila just rolled her eyes then played with my hair. Her brown eyes turn into gold and sparkle under the sun makes me feel jumpy inside. 

"Hey." I said out of the blue.

"Hmm?"

"I wanna go on another date. Just the two of us." 

Camila rolled her eyes then laughed. "Right."

"I'm serious." Camila giggled making a chuckle escape on my mouth. "This is serious Camz. Please." I said sitting up. In problems like these you need to woo the girl so I gently held her hand then playfully caressed it. "Please."

"Oh alright." Camila smiled. "Why do you wanna go on a date anyway?"

"No reasons." I chuckled.

"You won't tell me?" She asked.

"Nope." 

"Really?" 

"Yup."

"Okay. I have to use the lie detector test again." Camila laughed as she lift two of her fingers. She started to tickle me. 

"Hey... HAHAHAHAHAHA... No Fair.... HAHAHAHA." I laughed.

"Life isn't fair, elephant." Camila laughed.

I wish this could go on forever. With her by my side... Everything is perfect.

Ally’s POV:

I watched Lauren and Camila as they do some lovey dovey stuffs that couples do. I've gotta admit that they look good together but... I can't help thinking about Lauren. I think... I still do have feelings for her. 

"Babe?" 

Lauren.. I think I want her back. But what about Troy. I mean... I love him and all but...

"Ally? Still there?" Troy asked as he placed an arm around my waist.  I managed a weak smile then he kissed me cheek.

"Troy... we need to talk." I said. He looked at me seriously then held both of my hands. "Troy, Let's cool off."

"What do you mean, cool off?" 

"You know... We go and meet someone new. Date someone new. And then when we realized that we need each other then we---"

"I know what your getting at." Troy said grimly. "Okay... We'll do that. So as of now. Friends?" He coldly said as he held out his hand which I greatly accepted.

"Are you mad about it? If you are, I'm really sorry.. It's just I'm--"

"Confused? Yeah.. Me too. That's why I agreed on this." Troy shook his head then smiled at me. "I love you Ally. That's why I'm gonna give you some space." 

I smiled then gave him one last kiss. Then I looked at Lauren. I don't know if this feeling is right. Guess there's only one thing to try.
