Lauren’s POV:

The room was silent. Well, except for the cicadas crying near the lake. Camila was lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling. While me? Just sitting I guess.

Looking out the window while taking small glances at her. Weird? Maybe.

"I'm sorry." Camila mumbled. "I shouldn't have asked you to come here."

"What are talking about?"

"Don't act all innocent, Laur." She sat up then faced me. "You know what happened earlier and at lunch."

"It's fine." I smiled. "Your grandma's a pretty nice lady."

She raised an eyebrow at me.

"Minus the glaring part." I sighed. "She hates me, huh?"

Camila let out a heavy sigh then looks down. "She's so stubborn."

"Yeah." I nodded. "Like you."

"Hey!" She laughed. "I'm not like that."

"Alright. You're not stubborn." I laughed then looked down. "Just a little, I guess."

"That's still the same, stupid." She giggled then stuck her tongue at me.

Guess things are getting back to normal.

Earlier, her Grandma gave me a tour at the lake house. The Lake House was good and all but the tour wasn't. She kept on saying things like,

"If Austin was here"  "Austin was better" "Austin looked good in this" Austin this and Austin that. I kept  doing a fake smile, which I'm good at.

I tried pretend to be interested. But in the whole tour, Camila wasn't feeling good. She kept on holding my shirt and gripped it tight whenever her Grandma would mention him.

I don't mind though. Austin was my best friend. Even if it pains me to remember things about him, I still tried to understand that the old lady misses him too. But in Camila's case, this was too much.

The moment her Grandma left the room, Camila cried. She buried her face at my chest and balled her fists at it. I held her tight, but not too tight since I don't want another meaning about it. But right now, Camila needs a shoulder to cry on. And I'm happy for taking that role for her.

"Why does she hates me?" I blurted out. Camila looked at me carefully then lie down.

"Do you really wanna know why?"

I nodded.

"Cause I brought you here." She simply stated.

"Aren't you allowed to bring any friends here?"

"Well, Do you wanna know the story of my Grandma's lake house?"

 I nodded, again.

"My Great Grandparents met at this place. They got to know each other and many weeks later, they fell in love. When they got married, they agreed to live in the place that's very special to them, which is the Lake."

She sat up the looked at me straight in the eye. That kinda made me blush but I tried to keep my attention to the story.

"So they built a house there and had 3 children. One of them was my Grandma. Then one day, My Great Grandpa told them that they may bring here the most important person in their lives. The one that you trust the most. So my Grandma brought her best friend. She believed what my Great Grandpa said that the Lake got this... I don't know... Magic that brings two person closer together."
