Chapter 9

Terry watched his sister leave the room. He knew something was wrong and he couldn't wait until he was out of the hospital to talk to her. Since the moment she walked through the door, he could tell that she had changed. He still could see through her honey colored eyes, and he saw relief.

The doctors seemed frozen in their spots, as they too, watched Aly leave. "So, when can I leave?" asked Terry. The doctor turned to look at him and nodded.

"Right. We will keep you under observation one more night then tomorrow, your sister can pick you up." he said. Terry smiled widely and then laid back on the bed. He hoped that Aly wouldn't get into any trouble.

It was late at night and there was something in the trees. Aly was walking home from the hospital. She seemed confident but deep inside, she was freaked out. She heard a snap and stopped. She turned around but didn't see anything. She picked up her pace, help on to her bag, and made her way home.

She didn't turn around anymore. He followed her. Each step bringing him closer to her. Occasionaly, he would make noise to scare her. He loved to see her stop, hear her heart beat faster, and then pick up her pace again. He was teasing her.

He caught the scent of someone he knew. Someone who was very dangerous.

He stopped and climed up a tree. He saw Aly turn the corner. She almost hit him. "Chase!" she said out of breath. "You scared me." she said. So she did know them. They exchanged a few words and he walked her.

Chase smelled him. He was aware of the other man's presence but didn't want to scare Aly. "I'll walk you home." he told Aly. Aly nodded and shived her hands deeper into her pockets. she regreted walking to the hospital. she could feel someone looking at her, but she thought it was just the paranoya.

The man could no longer follow her. He was too afraid of being caught. He waited until they disapeared to climb out of the tree and head home. He wasn't able to get her tonight, but he would try again. And soon.

 The next day, I woke up early and fixed up the house. It was the first day that I missed school just to stay home and clean. I had a lot of laundry to do but I didn't care. I put on some music and listened to it all morning. I washed all my clothes and then cleaned my room.

There was a knock on my door and I went to it. I opened it and it was Joey. "Hey girlfriend." he said with a smile. I looked at him a little confused.

"Who'd you know I didn't go to school?" I asked. He shrugged. "I'm sorry, come in." I said. I moved out of the way and he stepped in. I looked outside and then closed the door. I turned around and Joey was looking at me. "Is there anything you'd like to drink?" I asked him.

"Yeah," he hesitated for a while. "You." he said. I looked at him confused then he smiled. I noticed that his teeth grew out into fangs and his eyes turned black. I gasped and then turned around and opened the door. I didn't have time to opened it before he grabbed and three me back into the wall.

I screached as I felt the sharp pain on my back. I landed on my back and I tried to catch my breath. I saw Joey coming closer and I tried to crawl away. "You should really be careful with who you invite into your house." he said with amusement in his voice. He knelt down and grabbed my jaw, jerking me to look at him.

"Get away from me." I said and spat at him. I saw that I had blood in my mouth. He wiped it from his face and then slapped me. He let me fall again and then kicked me. Again, the air was blown out of me and I clutched my stomach. I heard him laugh and I got up. I noticed that I was close to the kitchen and I thought about silver.

I ran to the drawers, in pain but still fast, and took out a knife. I turned around and Joey rushed to me. I held the knife infront of me and Joey ran straight to it. I was able to stab him and he let out a scream of pain. His face lost it's color and he started shriveling up. He fell to the ground and I dropped to my knees. I heard the front door open and I looked towards the entace. Leon and Chase came rushing in.

They saw Joey on the ground and I had the knife in my hand. "Aly!" I heard them scream. I snappe dout of my trance and I felt the tears roll down my face. "Did Joey hurt you?" Asked Chase.

I looked at him. "How do you know Joey?" I asked. My voice cracking. I sounded horrible but it was from the shock. "What the hell was he?" I asked. I was afraid of the answer but after what I had just seen, I needed to know.

Leon sighed and Chase just smirked. "Joey was a vampire. A long time enemy from us. I thought I had smelled him last night." he said like it was normal conversation.

I started shaking and I looked at Leon. He was watching me very closely. "I need to get rid of his body. My brother is coming over soon and I need to fix up the house." I said. Leon looked suprised but chase smirk turned into a cheeky grin. He nodded and I stood up only to groan in pain. My back was still hurting and my ribs were bruised. I sucked in a little breath and closed my eyes. Leon was at my side immideatly but I pushed him away. "Get the body out." I said. He nodded and I watched as Leon and Chase got rid of the body. I stood up slowly and carefully, washed the knife and mopped the floor where the blood had been spilled.

I went to look at the wall and saw that it wasn't even dented. No wonder my back hurt like hell. I saw Leon and Chase coming back and I stood up as straight as I could. "Where did you put it?" I asked.

"We are burning it back at my place." answered Chase. I nodded and then wiped my mouth. I had dried up blood on the side and I already knew my hair was a mess. "Good thing you let me inside last night, right?' smirked Chase.
