"What luck. What a fucking curse."
"Yo, Dwayne. Lil bro you ready?" my older brother Demarcus yelled up at me from the bottom of the stairs.
I don't understand why I have to go to a new school anyway. So what if I got suspended 3, 4...10 times for fighting. Them niggas should've never started with me.
So to prevent me from probably getting expelled, my parents sent me to live with my other brother. And on top of that, my brother enrolled me into some charter school. I hope it's better than those dirty ass public schools that I attended.
"It's now or never right?" I said reaching the bottom of the stairs, no enthusiasm in my voice whatsoever.
On the ride to school, my brother gave me the rundown of what he expects from me this school year. And how he wants me to stay out of trouble for once and blah, blah, blah. I tuned him out as we approached what was now my new school.
Damn! This looks 100 times better than any other school I went to. I was still admiring the building that I didn't realize that the car had stopped.
"Alright lil bro. Remember what I said, stay out of trouble. Love you."
"Ight Dee, love you too bro" I replied before grabbing my bag and getting out the car.
Walking up to the entrance of the school, I kept repeating, "it's now or never" to myself. Maybe I should take Demarcus' advice and try to stay out of trouble. But it's not my fault. I try to stay out of trouble but the trouble always finds me. I try my best to remove myself from the situation before my anger gets the best of me. But that doesn't help at all.
I've had issues controlling my anger since I was young. Always talking back to my parents, slamming doors, punching holes in walls. I always had a short temper which is the main reason most of my fights start.
My parents tried sending me to anger management therapy but that shit just made it worse. I can't be telling these people any of my business. I don't care how much they are getting paid, I don't trust them.
Anyways, back to this place I have to call my school. There was an area labeled "New Student Check-In" so that's where I headed. Once I reached my designated area, I saw there were 4 other students and some old guy in the same area.
"Glad to see you finally made it. Now that you're all here, we can get going" the old fart said.
Nigga, don't start. It's too early for this.
He showed us around the school. It was much nicer than I originally expected. With how big it is, you'd expect it to be more than just a high school.
As we were walking through the hallways, I spotted my boy Dondre. But it was the boy next to him that had all my attention.
Hold up, Dondre ain't tell me he went to this nice ass school and was friends with this lil cute nigga. Well that's good cause he'll be able to put in a good word for me with shawty.
My eyes locked onto his and never left. Damn, he got some pretty eyes and curly hair that I wouldn't mind pulling while we- nevermind.
"Mr. Miller, we have to get you to your first period class. Let's go" the old man whose name I already forgot said. Dapping up Dondre, I jogged down the hall to meet up with the rest of the group.
It seems like all 5 of us had the same first period class which was Math. Great, fucking GREAT. I don't have time to be dealing with math early in the morning. Unless we're dealing with money.
Once we reached the classroom, the math teacher handed us our locker numbers and combinations being that we were late. I took my time heading to my locker and whatever else I needed to do.
