"Here lies the love of my life whose heart I broke without a gun to my head."
"Merry Christmas mommy!" I said as I handed her the wrapped gift.
When she ripped all the wrapping paper off and saw what it was, she let out a loud gasp.
"OH MY GOD! Thank you so much baby boy. I love it so much and I love you even more." She walked over to me, hugged me and planted a bunch of kisses all over my face. I looked at her and saw her eyes all watered up meaning the tears could start flowing at any second.
She's so extra, literally anything can happen and she's crying.
The reason she's happy like this is because I got her a 15-inch MacBook Pro. She's been having issues with her current laptop and that's the one she uses when she does work at home. I've been seeing the frustration on her face so I had to give my girl a minor upgrade.
"No need to thank me" I told her as he finished wiping tears from her eyes before smiling.
"And dad, that big box over there is for you. Something to add to your mancave. I think you'll like it."
"Yo what! Thanks son. I like it a lot. It's lit!" he said as I instantly cringed.
"Dad, please stop talking like you're my age. I don't even say 'lit'." Him and my mother starting laughing as I rolled my eyes.
I bought my father a 60-inch curved tv to put in his mancave in the basements. He didn't ask for it but I just thought he'd like a new addition.
I decided to go all out for my parents since they worked hard all year to buy me that car for my birthday. This was my way of saying 'thank you' even though I've said it to them numerous times already. And since they just bought me a car, I didn't ask for anything big for Christmas. Only thing I asked for was a new suitcase and a few jackets.
"Baby boy are you all packed up and ready for tomorrow?" my mothers asked.
"Nope. I haven't even starting packing. Thanks for reminding me."
This year, we decided to stay in the house for Christmas instead of being around our family. My parents were stressed from work and didn't feel like going anywhere. And me personally, don't like being around a lot of people.
Even if it is my own family.
So, my mother cooked a small meal and we sat around and watched 'This Christmas', 'Almost Christmas', and 'The Perfect Holiday' on repeat. Well that was until my parents fell asleep on me during on 2nd time watching the movies.
I went and grabbed a blanket from the pile of extras in the closet and placed it over them, letting them get their rest. Then I cleaned up the dinning room and kitchen before heading up to my room.
I was laying down in my room bored while I was waiting for Jazmine to come over. She was coming to stay the night at my house so that we could leave together tomorrow.
We decided to rent out a cabin at this ski lodge. We thought it would be a good idea to do something different this year. The original plan was to rent out the cabin around Thanksgiving so we could do a lil "Friendsgiving." But this is even better. Perfect for us to have a small, friendly vacation.
That's why I asked for new suitcases because my old ones aren't cutting it. And I asked for a few jackets because I know it's going to be cold and we are going to be doing a bunch of activities where I need to be bundled up.
I got a text from Jaz telling me that she was outside. I walked down the stairs and saw my parents still sleep, stretched out on the couch.
Opening the door, I put my finger over my mouth signaling her to be quiet before she had the chance to be loud. I stepped to the side and let her come in so she could see for herself. I took her bags and carried it as we slowly walked up to my room.
