"The past and the future merge to meet us here."

"Kendrick...time to wake up baby boy. I don't want you to be late on your first day of senior year" I heard my mother Candice soft voice.

I really didn't want to wake up from my peaceful, beauty rest. Me and August Alsina just finished saying our wedding vows and were about to seal it with a kiss before I was woken up. But she did have a point. It was my LAST first day of high school.

"Good morning mommy" I finally said to my mother after fully waking up and sitting up against my headboard.

"I'm about to leave out for work but before I go, your dad and I got you something" she said before disappearing out of my room.

I was both excited and nervous thinking about what my parents could've possibly gotten for me. While I waited, I looked over and checked my phone and saw that is was only 6:30am. THE FUCK...school doesn't start until 8. I was snapped out of my thoughts when I saw my mom and dad enter the room.

"Here you go baby boy" my mother said smiling while handing me a black box with a ribbon tied around it and a bow on top.

I honestly didn't know what to expect but that didn't stop me from eagerly removing the bow and ribbon. Opening the box, I saw a remote key. When I turned it around, I saw the logo and it belonged to Nissan. Once I realized that, I let out a scream from the top of my lungs not caring how early it was.

Since I began high school, I always told my parents that I wanted my first car to be a Nissan. Although I always brought it up to them, I never thought they paid attention.

I ran up to my parents damn near about to cry. I pulled them both in for a big group hug. "Thank you guys" I finally managed to say.

"You're welcome son" my father Michael said with a smile on his face. Followed by my mother saying, "you're welcome baby boy."

I release them from my hug. Looking down at the key that now belonged to me, I was still in shock that this was real.

"We were going to save this for your birthday but we wanted you rolling into your senior year in style" my father revealed sounding corny as hell but I loved him for that.

"Alright kiddo. We are both on our way to work. We will see you when we get home. Have a good first day. We love you" my father added.

"Okay, love you too. And I will see you later" I responded.

"Oh and honey, make sure you brush your teeth. That morning breath is not cute" my mother expressed.

"Oop! Ma, how you gonna read me like that?" I replied.

This woman hangs around me too much. But I mean, she did have a point. This morning breath was not cute. Then again, it is her fault for waking me up and not giving me a chance to brush my teeth.

Finally getting out of bed since waking up, I made my way to the bathroom connected to my room. It's not as big as the one in my parents room but it still gets the job done. After washing my face and brushing my teeth, I jumped in the shower. While in the shower, I contemplated if I really wanted to go to school today or not. On one hand, I wanted to go just to show off my new car but on the other, I don't feel like dealing with these loud and ghetto hoes.
