Eight
When Amelia woke he was gone, had it been a dream? Her sore body and the musky smell of his cologne still lingering testified that it had actually happened. Amelia was overjoyed she wanted to call Emily and tell her but she felt like just hugging this information to herself for now. Antonio Gordon had made wild and passionate love to her all night long, but where was he? When she looked at the time she was shocked to see that it was already 10am jumping out of bed she rushed into the shower, she had an appointment at 11am with a very important client.
By the time Amelia got home that night she was tired and angry. Toni had not called her all day. He had not even left a note in the morning. It was like he had gotten what he wanted and that was it. It hurt, it hurt badly and Amelia was just getting ready to curl up on her sofa and cry when the object of her thoughts appeared at her door unannounced for the second night in a row.
“Hi.” He said as he came in, Amelia noticed that this time he did not ask for her permission to enter.
“What do you want?”
“You are angry!” Toni said stating the obvious.
“Of course I am, you show up at my house unannounced, make love to me like a man drowning then you just leave, no note, no phone call, nothing the whole day, then you decide to show up again unannounced. Well I’m sorry but you have to leave.” Amelia was still standing at the door holding it open for him to leave.
This is exactly what Toni had feared would happen but he couldn’t seem to stay away from Amy. “I’m sorry Amy, I left in a rush in the morning, i had an important meeting to attend and I got so busy today. I know i should have called.” Toni knew it was a lie, he could have taken just ten minutes to call her but he had ignored the urge to do so, not wanting to commit himself.
“Why are you here Toni?” Amelia asked. Toni had asked himself the same question as he had driven here but he wasn’t sure. Of course the need was still there but it was something more but he was damned if he was going to admit it.
“I don’t know Amy, I just found myself here again.” Toni looked so confused himself that Amelia began to soften. She did not want to be furious with him, she wanted to laugh, to fling her arms around his neck and let him sweep aside all her doubts and fears. She fought frantically against his powerful appeal, afraid of losing the very essence of herself if she gave in to the unfair promptings of her heart. Terrified that she would lose her head—as she seemed to do where he was concerned—with a great effort, she turned away from him and said,” Please leave.”
“I told you last night Amy, I can’t leave. If you wanted me to leave you should have never opened the door to me.”
Amelia’s lips parted to angrily contradict his words, but his mouth caught hers in a fierce kiss, his hard body pressing hungrily against hers. Sweet fire exploded deep inside of her as the feel of him, the taste of him, the virile scent of him, overpowered her senses. She was vaguely aware of the soft carpet against her back as he lowered her to the floor, but mostly it was Antonio, the longed-for pleasure of his weight on her, the intoxicating magic of his mouth moving on hers, that flooded her mind. For an instant she gave herself up to the elemental emotions his embrace aroused, letting her lips soften and cling to his, letting her arms creep around his neck.
Antonio kissed her like a starving man, his lips, tongue, and teeth all tasting and exploring her willing mouth. Desire, suddenly ran rampant through him, and his manhood instantly became hard and aching, the urgent need to have sex with her nearly driving any thought but that one act from his mind. Gripped by powerful passion, Antonio fought to keep from falling upon her like a animal, every fibre and sinew of his body urging him to rip aside her clothing and his own and make them one.
Breathing in harsh gasps, he was finally able to lift his mouth from hers, and his eyes black with naked need, he said thickly, “Amelia, sweetheart . . .” He groaned and kissed her again, deeply, passionately, before losing himself in the soft sweetness of her as he brought them both to a climax.
After there were both spent he gently picked her up and took her to the bedroom and lay her down gently before covering her with a blanket. He felt something stir in him which was more than just lust as he looked at her sleeping form and he quickly suppressed it. He could not afford to get attached, it had been long since he felt such tender feelings toward a woman he had just had sex with. Usually as soon as they finished he would leave. It’s not that Antonio didn’t like women, oh he did like them a lot but it was the whole commitment issue that he didn’t like. He always felt like he was being stifled every time he was in a serious relationship. He didn’t like someone questioning his every move. He did not like someone claiming his time and thinking they owned him. The long relationships he had kept for the convenience and for the publicity but otherwise the women had known that it wouldn’t last. He eventually wanted a marriage like his parents’ the woman he would marry had to be like his mother. So when he found her he would settle down but for now there was absolutely nothing wrong with having a little fun was there?
Antonio sensed Amelia was dangerous territory because he genuinely liked her and she was awakening in him such feelings as he did not understand. This time when he left her bed he would not return again. He had a company to run and he didn’t need the complication this woman would bring into his life. She was so emotional, when making love to her it was like penetrating right into her soul and you couldn’t continue doing that without losing something of yourself in there. He already felt as if he had left something of his in her but it was a ridiculous notion, laughing to himself he lay down beside her and drew her back to his chest. He would hold her tonight maybe make love to her before dawn but when morning came he would leave and never come back again.
