A few days had passed since Michael's arrival and it only seemed to put the council at odds. John Henry still believes we should have left him in the LA county jail. Ariel is all but sure he is the next supreme. While Baldwin and Chablis would like to believe Ariel is right, but they have their our suspicions, and they will until they have their own test to prove Michael is worthy of even bringing forward to the witches. Which wouldn't be for a couple more weeks.

I take the time when we don't have classes to walked around the school. While many of the other students prefer to be in their rooms, where they play video games and things of that nature. I explore the school and the grounds. As I prepare to head toward the surface I hear someone call out to me, in a soft smooth voice. "Should you do that?"

I turn and see Michael, "should I do what?"

"Should you head outside, to the surface?" Michael climbs up a couple stairs. "Isn't it prohibited for students to leave the school unattended by a member of the council?"

"Look whos being studying his handbook." I chuckle and take a few steps down, "but I am not a typical student."

"Are you a member of the council?"

"In a way, I suppose."

"What purpose do you serve? I mean, not to be rude. But a young witch on a council of warlocks, that doesn't seem to be very useful."

"No? That's too bad, because I am the one who decides if you are truly worthy of bringing to the supreme."

"Is that so?"

"Who better to have a witch's perspective..."

"Then a witch..." Michael finishes my thought, "and what is your perspective so far?"

"I don't know." I step down and past him, looking back at him, "I haven't decided about you yet."

"Why don't we sneak out and you can get a better idea of who I am?"

"So you can win me over?"

"So you can... get a clearer image of who I am."

I think for a moment, "fine, but we have to leave now."

Michael nods and the two of us quickly sneak up to the surface. Once we are up top, we run to the brushes nearby, guided by the moonlight. "So where to now?" Michael smiles over to me.

"I was going to walk about downtown. Maybe see some sights."

"Sounds good to me."

"Do you know any good places?"

"None down here. I was born and raised in LA."

"Is it nice there?"

"I guess. I don't really have anywhere else to compare it to. So I don't really know." Michael chuckles nervously.

It doesn't take us long to get to downtown and we begin walking the streets. Of course, we get a handful of odd looks from people since the two of us are dressed almost head to toe in black, but who cares. "So what do you want to do?"

"I'm not sure." Michael looks around a bit unsure.

"Come on, I know you're not this shy and unconfident." I chuckle, Michael looks over to me confused. I sigh and shake my head, "I can read souls. But even if I couldn't, I'd know you are only acting like this to make up for the fact you have very little experience with girls."

Michael takes a deep breath and drops his shoulders, "that obvious?"

"Well unless you are able to cast a false soul, which I've never even heard of, and since you just recently learned you were a warlock, I don't think you'd learn that quickly."

"Maybe I can and am." Michael laughs, "then what?"

"Then you would be extremely powerful and knowledgeable. And Ariel would be right about you."

"And what if I'm not or can't?"

"It doesn't change that you are powerful." I turn and start walking, "anyone could see that from the tape that was sent to us. The issue is..." I stop and turn back to Michael, who had sped up to catch up to you, "you lack control of your magic when you're stressed or emotional. And in order to be the next supreme," I place a hand on his chest, "you must be able to control the rage that lies within you."

"You see rage when you look into my soul?"

"I saw it on that tape." I take a deep breath, "like I said you are very powerful, but you have no control."

I turn and begin walking again, this time Michael catches up to me quickly, stopping me. Tilting his head to the side a bit as he speaks, "can you help me learn to control it?" A loose strand of hair falls in front of his eyes as he waits for my answer.

"Fine." I shake my head.
