Blake POV
"It means no worries For the rest of your days It's our problem-free philosophy Hakuna Matata..." Zoey sings beside me.
I stifle a laugh as she starts trying to dance while sitting down. She's so adorable when she's singing. You can see a simple dimple on her right cheek that's just barely there and only see when she's truly happy, which doesn't happen as often as I wish it would. Her hair is a wavy mess, but Zo doesn't care.
Her hair is flying everywhere as she pretends to be doing a concert, which causes me to move back a bit so I don't get hit. Her voice is really beautiful as well I love listening to it. She turns to me and starts giggling and I start blushing, realizing I was staring. Star hugs me and I hug her back.
Although it's very awkward since she had to reach over to hug me, her hug is filled with so much comforting warmth; they're like gifts. I let go of her and she sits back up with a wide smile, showing her dimple.
"Are you enjoying the movie?" I ask her.
She gives an over-exaggerated nod and says, "I love this movie so much! It's so sad when Mufasa dies though."
I nod and get back to the work I'm supposed to be doing while she continues watching the Lion King. There's a gang war happening between two of my allies and I'm trying to make peace. If I can't, I might have to take sides or lose both allies. I can't have that, the target on us is big enough as it is.
Losing allies would just increase it and if I'm going to take down Darren and his gang, I might have to get my allies involved. It's so stressful being a gang leader. Sometimes I wish I had never started the gang, but then I realize I wouldn't have had the family I've made with the gang.
"Blake, the movie is over. Can I put another one on?" Star asks.
"Of course," I answer and go to take the movie out for her.
She starts flipping through the DVDs after putting the one she just watched away in the right place. She picks one out and puts it in. I press play and a few moments later, the beginning of Beauty and the Beast plays. Zo starts singing the first song and it's a bit funny to watch. She starts changing how her voice sounds to match the different village people.
I shake my head and get back to work. I keep getting distracted by her constant moving and her singing that after a while, I give up on my work and start cuddling with her. The movie gets to Tale as Old as Time and Zoey stands up and then drags me out of bed as well.
"What are we doing Star?" I ask.
"Dancing," She replies.
We begin doing a very bad version of a slow dance. We're both laughing by the end of it. I pick her up and we fall onto the bed, her laying on top of me and both of us half off the bed. We just lay there for a little while and enjoy each other's presence. My phone starts ringing, causing us to let go of each other. I pick it up and Weston's voice fills my ears.
"What's up, West," I say.
"You and Zoey need to get to the hospital off Sunrise now," He tells me, panic in his voice.
"What, why?" I ask as I turn off the TV and get up.
"What's going on?" Zoey asks me, concern seeping through her voice and eyes.
"Paisley has gone into labor. I don't have time to explain but hurry."
He hangs up on me and I start looking around for my keys and Zoey's phone. I find them both and see a missed call from Paisley and Weston on her's, that must be why he called me.
"Blake, what's happening? Where are we going? Why did West call you?" Star asks.
"Paisley has gone into labor and we have to hurry to get to the hospital," I answer as I drag her downstairs.
We hurry and get our shoes on before running out the door to the car. We start driving and it's extremely quiet. You can tell Zoey is beyond nervous and I can understand why. One of her best friends is about to have twins and the twins are early too. We both know that's bad and can be dangerous.
We arrive at the hospital and rush to the front desk.
"We're here to see Paisley Morgan, she's gone into labor," I tell the front desk guy.
"Floor 3, room 307," He tells us.
We thank him and head for the elevator. Zo presses the 3 and after what feels like forever, we get to the floor and follow the signs to Paisley's room. I can hear screaming inside the room so we sit outside for a while, waiting for the twins to be born. Others get there a little while later and everyone is waiting in the waiting room except for Zoey and me.
Zoey wanted to be there the moment Paisley was done and I didn't want to leave her alone. So we sat in some chairs that the nurses brought to us and waited. After an hour or so, a nurse rushes out with the babies and I can tell they're headed to the NICU since they're premature. We knock and Weston opens the door with a big smile on his face.
West lets us in and Zoey runs over to Paisley before engulfing her in a hug.
"How'd it go?" I ask them.
"Good. They're alive, their organs are just underdeveloped though so they've been sent to NICU," Weston answers.
"So, what are the genders?" Zoey asks with excitement.
"A boy and a girl, they're fraternal twins too," Paisley answers.
"Have you decided names yet?" Zo asks next.
"Yes, but you'll have to wait until you see them to find out their names."
"When can we see them?" I ask.
"In a little while, after we do," West answers. "We'll be going to see them tomorrow morning so you guys can by tomorrow afternoon."
We nod and talk for a bit longer before going out into the waiting room, which is when we announce that people can visit her now since West doesn't want to leave her side. After that we head home.
