Zoey POV

'The ceiling is so boring,' Part of me thinks as I stare up at the ceiling for the hundredth time today.

'Then why do you keep looking at it?' The other part of me asks.

'Because there's nothing better to do,' The first part of me replies.

'I'm talking to myself about a ceiling, a fucking ceiling; I'm going insane,' I decide as a whole.

I've been here for what feels like forever but hey, it's not as bad as last time. There's this woman named Lucy who's probably around my age and heavily pregnant. She's the one who brings me food twice a day(against Darren's protests)and talks to me while I eat. I've learned that she's Darren's wife and is having their son soon.

I congratulated her when she announced that and her face became so excited, but Darren pulled her away soon after. The first time we really talked without Darren there was probably a little while after I was kidnapped.

~~~~~~~~Flashback~~~~~~~~
"Where's Darren, why isn't he here?" I ask when she brings in my dinner one night without him.
"He had some business to attend to so it's just you, me, and the guards," She replies with a small smile.
I start eating and she keeps looking at me like she wants to talk so I start a conversation with, "You never told me much about your pregnancy last time we talked."
"You actually want to hear about it?"
I nod and her eyes widen along with her smile, showing her slightly yellow teeth. I motion for her to sit down in the chair that Darren would normally sit in and I stop eating for a second so she knows I'm listening.
"Well, it's a boy like I said last time and I'm about six months along."
"Do you two have a name picked out for him yet or are you still deciding?"
"Well, I do. Darren doesn't necessarily care much about it. He's always busy with whatever his business is that he's not around unless it comes to feeding you or if he's coming to sleep in our room for once."
"Then what do you have picked up? I'm sure it'll be beautiful like your name."
I know it's a bit messed up to be sucking up to someone who might have no power in helping me get out, but it's worth a shot. She chuckles at my comment with her wide smile.
"I wanted something classic so I decided on Nathaniel. It means a gift of god, which he is to me."
"Why's that Mrs. Louis?"
"Please call me Lucy, and I was always told that I wouldn't have any kids so when I found out I was expecting I was estatic. I couldn't imagine not having a baby."
She pats her stomach and I look down to my own. I share her excitement and love for having a baby, but I'm terrified. I'm not sure if the baby is healthy, if it's just one baby or more than that. I'm only sure that I haven't miscarried because I have yet to wake up in a pool of blood. I get lost in just thinking about my baby and don't realize I'm still looking at my stomach until Lucy gasps.
I look and my eyes widen as I realize she must've figured out something. Her eyes go from me to my stomach, me to my stomach, back and forth until she says, "Are you pregnant?"
"You can't tell Darren I am. I don't want anyone knowing yet," I reply, "but yes I am."
"When did you find out? Do you know the gender? Who-"
"I'll answer all your questions if you promise not to tell Darren about this conversation," I say.
She nods and I answer, "I found out the day I was brought here. No, I don't know the gender and the father is my fiance."
She tells me to finish eating and I do before she says goodnight and leaves.
~~~~~~~~~~~Flashback over~~~~~~~~~~~

Ever since our little conversation, she's been coming in alone most of the time and is giving me extra food on my plate. She'll ask how I'm feeling and then I'll ask her how she's feeling in return. She's a bit surprised that I haven't been throwing up but I have to tell her I keep swallowing it when I feel like I'm going to.

Yes I know that sounds disgusting but showing any signs that I'm pregnant is not an option. Who knows what Darren will do if he finds out. Come on Blake, where are you? If only there was something I could do to contact him so he has another clue. Wait..that gives me an idea. I need to talk to Lucy, alone.
