Zoey POV
I spent the night thinking over my plan. I need to get in contact with Blake somehow and the only way I have even a chance of doing that is by getting Lucy to send him a note for me. She seems absolutely clueless to what Darren is actually doing so it shouldn't be too hard to get here to send a single letter.
I was gonna ask when she came with my food in the morning but, of course, Darren is there. We don't talk any while he's there because he has banned us from talking. I quickly finish my food so they can leave and just prepare what I'm going to say. I know it has to be something that sounds sweet, romantic, and loving.
That's all true and all when it comes to Forest, but not as much when I'm kidnapped. I fall asleep planning but not for long. I feel someone shake me awake and I rub my eyes before seeing Darren. His sneer looked even more poisonous than usual.
"What do you want?" I spit out.
"I want to know what the hell you and my wife aren't telling me," He says.
"We don't talk unless you're with her. You should know that," I explain, "but why is it my problem that your marriage might not be the best?"
"My marriage is perfect, unlike your relationship."
"At least my relationship doesn't have any secrets."
He spits on my face and storms out of the cell, slamming the door in the process. I reach up slightly to wipe the spit off my face. I hear yelling and then another door slam even harder than my cell door had. I flinch at such a loud noise. A few moments later Lucy comes running in with tears pouring down her face.
hSe goes straight to me and collapses on her knees next to me, cuddling her head into my side. I try my best to comfort her as she cries and mutters words I can't understand.
"What happened Lucy?" I question.
She sniffles and with a quivering voice, she replies, "Darren is mad that I won't tell him that we've been talking."
Her voice breaks and she starts sobbing loudly. I rub her back the best I can at the odd angle we're sitting and kiss her head. She's shaking violently as she cries and I feel so bad. My conversation with Darren is probably what set him off. I calm her down the best I can so we can have a civil conversation.
"I'm so sorry about him yelling," I tell her.
"I-It's okay. He was being a jerk today anyways," Lucy assures. "I just wish we were happier together."
"I'm sure you will be one day."
"What are you and your guy like? You haven't told me much about him."
"I don't think I should really talk about him..."
I look at her pleading eyes and sigh.
"Alright, fine. He's kind, brave, strong, and one of the best people I've ever met. He's extremely loving, caring, and protective. He's probably going insane not being able to see or hear from me right now."
Lucy squeals and then sighs, realization and confusion filling her face.
"What do you mean he hasn't heard from you?" She asks.
"I don't have my phone so I haven't been able to contact him that way and I don't know of any alternatives for contacting him that I could do here," I reply with a frown.
"We have to fix that," Lucy decides with a firm look. "The only phone here is Darren's cellphone but he doesn't let any use that. I have some pen, paper, and envelopes that you could use to write him a letter."
"That's a great idea...but would Darren be okay with me sending my boyfriend a letter?"
"Oh, don't worry about it. He won't even notice as long as your boyfriend doesn't send a letter back."
"I'll be sure to tell him not to then."
"Perfect!"
Lucy runs out of the cell and quickly comes back with a book for me to write on, a pen, paper, and an envelope. I take them gratefully and write down my letter to him, but first, I need to write the information onto the front of the envelope.
"What's the address for here so I can put it onto the front of the envelope?" I ask innocently.
"It's #### ******** ***** Lane," Lucy answers.
I write that and other information down and then move onto the letter.
Dear Blake,
I've managed to send you this one letter that will, hopefully, help you find where I am. I've written the address of where Darren is keeping me on the back of the envelope as well as at the bottom of this paper. I miss and love you so much and hope that you find me soon. Our baby is fine, as I assume you found the pregnancy test. I haven't felt any signs of a miscarriage yet. Please, find me soon.
Love,
Zoey
P.S. ~ #### ******* ***** LaneI fold the letter open, close the envelope, and hand it to Lucy. She puts a stamp on it and says goodbye and that she was going to put it into the mailbox outside. I lean back against the wall and begin to wait for my rescue.
