"What song are we working on today?" Chris asked as he joined me behind the soundboard. I opened my mouth to answer him, but that though was cut off when I received a text from Lucas. We've been talking a lot since yesterday and he is really nothing like Chris. He doesn't even flirt heavily, he is really goofy though and got a cool ass personality. It's like the start of a teenage dream.
"Hello?" Chris waved in my face. I blinked rapidly and turned my attention towards him.
"My bad. Uh, we can run through Undecided again. Just the second chorus down. I think there might be a few changes I want to make." I waved him off to go into the recording room as I responded to Lucas's text.
The song kind of reminds me of Chris's circumstance to a certain extent. Some lines are obvious, others are subliminal.
I started up the music and skipped to the end of the first chorus.
"I know I shouldn't be doing this, but here we go again. Girl, you know that pussy is my weakness. Girl you got me addicted when you switching positions. You tell me shut up, and you know I listen. I hate it, wishing that I didn't. I can't keep sinning and pretending."
The dead giveaways? That entire verse. It's literally our entire dilemma from his point of view.
"Oh, no baby. I'm afraid of your love. Ooh, you got me baby. Cause I can't get enough. But I'm undecided, excited, ignited. And I don't wanna feel the way I do, but I like it. Look at all these sparks flying. But I'm still indecisive, and she want me to wife it. Cause I'm undecided."
At this point I wasn't paying much attention to him, for I had heard him sing what I wanted to hear. I was more invested in the conversation I was in the middle of.
"Was that good?" Chris paged me. I ignored him, not even interested anymore.
"Aya!" He shouted.
"Yeah, it was cool." I simply replied, keeping my eyes glued to my screen. After a moment of silence, my phone was snatched violently out of my hand causing me to kiss my teeth.
"Let me see what's on this phone that got you all distracted and shit." He began scrolling, only irritating me. I stood up and tried to take my device back from him, but he turned away from me and began to walk in the opposite direction.
"Let me eat yo' ass for breakfast, lunch, and dinner? What the hell is this?" He read off of the screen. I had to contain my laughter cause that shit partially fixed my mood real quick.
"Chris, you know damn well those are your messages." I chuckled slightly as he gave my phone back to me. I turned my ringer off and stuffed it into my back pocket, feeling it vibrate once more.
"What are we doing tonight?" Chris asked me as he took a seat on the couch, pulling me into his lap.
"We aren't doing shit." I scoffed and removed myself, taking a seat next to him, resting my legs in the now empty space across his lap.
"And why not?"
"I have plans." I told him straight.
"With who? Karilyn?" He continued to pry in.
