VICTOR
It's already been a few days since we first got here to the lake house and last we heard from our parents was that night.
The last thing they had told us was to wait here and then they would contact us to let us know what to do next.
One of the worst things to do, I feel personally, is wait. I hate the waiting game.
We had eventually found the safe our parents had told us about and they were right, we did have more than enough money to last us all a lifetime in there and already had it in two bags.
We have been trying also to forget about all that's going on and keep our minds off of it at least so that I wouldn't worry but I can't help but worry.
Today we were watching TV until my phone went off. Then they muted the TV as I answered it.
"You guys okay?" I answered after seeing the number was from my dad's phone.
"I'm so sorry kid. Your parents unfortunately didn't make it." Lolita's father states.
"You bastard!" I tell him through clenched teeth as I squeeze tightly my phone.
"I swear that I will end you in the most painful and worst way." I start to threaten him.
"We shall see about that. Your parents weren't too bright in trying to go to your Uncle. I just hope you don't make the dame mistake as they did." He says.
"I swear to god when I find you." I began.
"Yes I'm sure you will try to hurt me and all that 'tough guy' bullshit. But again, as I said moments ago, I hope you aren't as stupid as your parents were." He repeats.
"What do you want?" I ask him.
"It's simple. Your father took from me years ago something that belonged to my familia. It was passed down for many generations." He explains.
"My father would never take anything from anybody." I remind him.
"You poor thing, you don't know your Papa as much as you think. Both your parents owed a debt to me years ago after opening their restaurant. Which may I remind you I helped them with. Now, since they no longer are with us, I suggest to avoid anymore blood being shed, that you bring me exactly what I ask for. No tricks. Nothing but the artifact." He states.
"What if he doesn't have this so called artifact?! What if I can't find it?" I ask him.
"You will. In fact, it isn't too far away from where you are at right now. You must go up to the second floor and go into the first bedroom to the left, go towards the night stand that is closest to the window, pull it out a little ways and along the wall you will see a lighter shade of paint that is different from the rest of the wall, break through the wall around there and reach inside. You will pull out a small box. Then you call me back on this phone and we will discuss in where to meet up." He says.
Before I could say anything else, he hung up the phone and disconnected us.
Once I hung up the phone, I next looked at everyone after I was still in shock that both our parents were killed and once I heard Maritza call out my name.
"What is it? Who was that?" She asks.
"It was Lolita's father. He wants me to bring him something that apparently mom and dad took from him years ago." I tell her.
"Are they okay?" She asks.
It was hard to look at her right away but when I did a part of me died as I can tell by the look on her face after seeing mine and the tears forming in my eyes, that she already knew the answer.
I now am beginning to wonder who were our parents?!?
Next chapter will be posted soon! :)
