SAIGE

I finished up eating the last bite of my pizza and closed the now empty box and sat back on the couch.

"That hit the spot. Thanks again." I tell him.

"Damn, you sure can eat." Victor remarks in a jerk tone of voice.

I turn my head and scowl at him.

"You're such an asshole." I tell him as I get up to put away my trash.

"No, I didn't mean that." He began to apologize until I stopped him.

"Yeah, okay." I reply sarcastically.

"What the hell is your problem? Do you hate men or something?"

"Oh my god can you pleeease just stop?!"

"Stop what?" He asks with a smirk.

"Do me a favor and stop pretending to be nice to me and then turn around and make asshole remarks like that. We aren't friends or anything so you can't even say it as a joke." I snap at him.

"Uh, I never gave you any impression of ever being friends with you in the first place. So that's on you." He says as he gets up off of the couch and walks over to toss his trash into the trash can and stands a couple feet away. "And as far as this whole being 'nice to you' thing goes, last time I checked I don't need to do anything. Besides, it's not my fault you're so sensitive."

"Okay what the hell is your problem with me exactly? What is it about me that makes you act hot and cold?" I demanded.

"You just do." He says shrugging.

"Yeah, that's a good answer." I say sarcastically. "Says the guy who just helped me from being assaulted." I mutter to myself.

I walk past him towards my bedroom and then feel him grab my hand and turn me around to face him.

"Well you shouldn't have been there in the first place! You don't belong there!" He tells me.

"I don't belong there? And why is that exactly?" I asked curious as to what the hell he just meant by that with my arms crossed over my chest as he's got me irritated now.

"It isn't safe." He says.

"No place is safe. Besides, I wanted to go to have fun and your sister invited me. Do you think I shouldn't have gone because I was the only white girl there and you thought they would kick me out or what?" I ask him.

"Don't pull that race card on me." He says.

"Well what else could be the reason?! You don't care about me nor like me so, I can't think of a reason as to why it matters!" I snapped back at him, feeling two seconds away from slapping the hell out of him.

"You don't know anything. Just....stay the hell away from that neighborhood." He says and then walks out while slamming the door behind him.

What the hell is with this guy?!? I swear I'm gonna need an understanding men for dummies because as far as I can tell, that whole thing about how confusing women are, I would have to say some men are the same way.

Whatever, I'm over it. I don't care.

****************
A Few Days Later

For the next few days, I never saw Victor and I was real glad about that too. Javier had been coming over however and since he's really cool and all, I was good with that.

Maritza has been trying to get me to go out with her and I haven't been feeling like it as much. It wasn't because of what Victor said it's just that I wasn't feeling it. Not that I liked going out in the first place anyways. Plus, I needed to catch up on my homework, so I decided to stay home.

While studying, I decided to take a break and go downstairs to grab some Chinese food. While leaving, I heard a girl giggling and speaking Spanish to someone and when I looked down the hallway, I saw it was Lolita and Victor as he was kissing her neck and then opening his door up.

He looked at me and smiled but also looked as though he felt guilty? Pff, I don't care what he does. I next start heading downstairs and pick up my order then start making my way back into the apartments and into the elevator.

Right as the doors were closing, I heard someone call out something.

"Hold the elevator please!" A hot guy with dark brown hair and nice hazel eyes with an athletic body but not necessarily muscular physique come walking in.

I held the doors opened and then while going up, I stood there suddenly feeling a little self conscious about having all this food with me. He's probably thinking what most do, she does not need to be eating that.

"Mmm, that smells good." I hear him say.

"Huh? Oh, yeah." I replied.

"Did you get it from downstairs?" He asks.

"Yeah." I reply.

"That's cool. I will have to try it out some time." He says.

"You should. It's really good." I replied.

Is the elevator even moving?!?

"I'm Trenton by the way. I just moved in yesterday. I live on the third floor." He says holding out his hand.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Saige. I live on the fifth floor." I shake his hand back.

We stop on the third floor and as the doors open he starts walking off but then stops and turns around.

"Hey uh, I know this might sound weird but, you wanna hang out some time?" He asks.

"Yeah." I replied with a smile.

"Cool. Here's my number." He says as he pulls out a business card and hands it to me.

"Wow, you own your own company?" I asked impressed at the card that states he runs a business of web designing.

"Yep." He replies.

"Cool." I smiled.

"Well hit me up. It was nice meeting you." He winks at me and then walks away.

Wow, never thought I would ever get a guy to give me his number to hang out. Not thinking too much into it but it would be cool make another friend as well.
