"I thought I heard the gate open last night , or maybe it was just my imagination"my dad said as I cleared the dining table after Sunday lunch . I felt cold in the warm room in 5 seconds , I had never taken a risk like I did last night , always been in my comfort zone awaiting someone to trust and be wild with.
"I'm pretty sure it was , I heard nothing dear , did you Kayla?"my mom stood up.
"Me?..."I looked at the clock behind her.
"O I'm sorry , did I get your name wrong? , never mind. "my mom said before shaking her head briefly and heading to the master bedroom.
my dad moved to the porch for his afternoon reading.
I whistled in relief , it was 2:45 and I was expecting one of my close friends to come around so we could learn for an upcoming test.
"Kayla! , Elaina is here "my dad called out to me and quickly sent the dirty plates to the kitchen and washed it as I heard the living room door open.
"Try not to break those fragile plates Aniya"Elaina shouted ,hint of mockery in her tone.
"it's too early for an argument Elf"I replied with a smirk as I cleaned the last dirty plate.
"Ma Janice! ,Aniya called me an elf again"She called out to my mom who scowled my name.
"I'm sorry Ma!"I stuttered ,glaring at her.
"I feel the love book fairy"She grimaced , mentioning the nick name I hated. She always had the impression I was extremely smart and I just didn't know it .
"To my room .Now."I playfully scowled at her.
"Right away Captain"She strided to my room.
I followed her , we didn't waste much time and got straight into learning mood.

Aniya , I'm going to die for real if we don't stop learning , it's 9 pm!"She threw a pencil at me.
"Ohw..fine fine "I shrieked , going downstairs to grab a box of juice.
"Let's study for 3hours ,you end up adding more hours than my brain can take.."She wanted as I served her a glass of juice.
"Now since we can finally take a break , what's up with you?"She gobbled down the class of orange juice. I stared at her , what 7 hours of studying could do to Elaina.
"Geez , slow down Elf"I smirked
"I'm going to spare you since your parents are asleep and the fact that I'm hungry just because you made us skip dinner gives you more luck."She glared at me , arranging the study table as I unplugged my phone and turned it on.I went straight to check my messages with one person in mind.

I sighed in frustration , did I do something wrong last night?

my phone buzzed.
"Hello?"I didn't sound cheery.
"You could at least pretend you're happy that I called , ungrateful lad"Sandra muttered.
"Delilah ,I hope you don't mind explaining why you called me four times already"I muttered back.
"I was just checking up on you"that tone of hers was never trustworthy.
"Sandra..."I scowled.
"Oh come on ! , Are you going to tell me you haven't heard from Caesar till now"She laughed.
"We've got exams to write from tomorrow Sandra , get off my line."I giggled before ending the call. I looked at Elaina who had fallen asleep on the bed already.

I smiled , laying my head down.
I had more things to think about right now , this week was going to be hectic .I needed to focus , Caesar could come to invade my thoughts later...after all , he was the one who had made me feel wanted in a long while , he was something beautiful I found by chance and I was planning on keeping him ..friends or not.
The real question is, how on Earth did he find my house?
