"Is it just me or you're actually avoiding Caesar since you came in separately"Sandra whispers.
"There's nothing wrong"I take a sip of my non alcoholic wine.
"Mmhmm"Elaina hums.
"He hasn't stopped glancing here every now and then"Sandra says.
"We're fine , girls"I insist , glancing at Caesar as he chats with a group of men.
"Hello girls , having fun?"Caroline approaches us.
"Sure thing "Elaina nods .
"Thank you for having us"Sandra smiles.
"The friends of Kayla are always welcome"Caroline pushes back her black hair with one hand , her diamond ring sparkling.
"Kayla?"She turns to face me .
"Yeah"I hastily stare at her the moment I notice Caesar glancing my way.
"I don't want to be all up in your business but what is up with you two?"  She asks.
"It's just silly"I try to smile , Sandra and Elaina signal me to the food stand as they walk towards it.
"You sure?"She urges me on. I glance at Caesar who is now speaking to a beautiful lady in a classy black jumpsuit, Caroline follows my gaze.
" That girl won't stop huh"She laughs lightly.
"What?"I ask her.
"Rosa Mills"She declares.
"She's been crazy about my brother for years , back in college , she would flirt with him anytime , anywhere.. just imagine!"She went on , I stared back at the woman.
"She was invited to the  seminar in Mexico ,and hearing that The Banks CEO was coming , she didn't miss the opportunity. Oh Kayla , I'm sure she's going to try her best but it's obvious who Caesar wants"She smiles . I simply nod , getting a little irritated as I spot Rosa resting her hands on Caesar's shoulders.
"Relax Kayla , trust me ,she tried so many times after they broke up but..."
"Hold on , they were once together?"my head switches to his direction. They're both staring at each other as Rosa speaks.
"Wait , you mean Caesar didn't tell you ? ,I thought that was the reason for you two staying so long upstairs"Caroline looked confused.
"Well.. that's awkward."She pauses.
"Caroline.. "
"I don't think I should be the one telling you this."She suddenly looks uneasy.
"For the love of God! ,Will someone at least tell me what happened at the seminar?"I panick. She looks at Caesar and Rosa , then back at me .
"After the end of the 3-days seminar, I convinced Caesar to relax with me at this private bar ,she tagged along and well ,got drunk (I scoffed in disbelief) so Caesar had to drive her to her hotel..."
"And..?!"I grew impatient.
"Well that's all I know , they come back together the next morning and she sat in our jet , we dropped her off at her place before heading to the company today. They were quiet the whole time and I sure didn't wanna know if they had sex or not"She wrinkled her nose at her last words .
"Caesar stayed the night?"my voice hitched.
"Oh I see ..."I muttered.

So that's why he didn't wanna tell you what happened huh...

"Nah-uh ,But we can't make any conclusions"Caroline realised I was lost in thoughts.
I will ...I will not forgive him if he cheated on me.
"Caroline , I have to go , please do me a favour and tell my friends I took the lead"that was the last words I managed to say before storming out of the penthouse.
I rapidly called for an Uber , avoiding the look on Max's face when he saw me slide into the Uber.
How could he do this to me? ,Arggghh no no , there must be an explanation for this.

Then why are you leaving??

I couldn't help but feel insecure when I saw them looking at each like that , was I just an experiment to him? , was she the main woman?..
