Chapter 10: The Bond Between Brothers

Obito's POV:

The demon laughed and then her face twisted with disgust.

"How dare you disrespect like this. Pulling out a pair of worthless daggers as if you'll be able to put a mere scratch on me." She then lunges swiftly at Kakashi who barely dodges. I grab Kazue and run behind a tree.

"Stay right here okay. If you need to escape, run back to the house as fast as you can." Kazue nods and then I return back to the battle. Kakashi was already bleeding but he was holding up pretty well. He was out in the open, dodging swings from the demon's daggers.

"Ahh I guess you're living up to your name. I was warned to be cautious of you: Kakashi Hatake."

So they already have information on us? That's not good...

"But it seems you aren't at peak strength since you don't have your katanas with you. It looks like I attacked at the perfect time." I clenched my teeth and ran up behind the demon slicing my blade through the air. She dodged easily and knocked me to the ground. She then stepped hard on my stomach causing the wind to be knocked from me. I groaned and attempted to stand up.

Kakashi helped me and then leaned over into my ear.

"This is getting deadly. We need to corner and attack this demon. I'll distract her while you go in for the kill." I nod and start running in a different direction.

"Tch. Whispering like little mice isn't going to help you at all."

Kakashi's POV:

My wounds were beginning to sting and my vision was getting worse and worse, but I couldn't let this demon take Kazue. He means too much to Obito. I wiped my mouth that was now bleeding. I tried to stay calm.

Damn. What's the best way to defeat this demon? If I had my katanas with me this would be so easy.

I suddenly got a new idea. It was very dangerous but it was the only way. I made a signal at Obito and then ran to the tree where Kazue was. I grabbed him and ran out into the open.

This ought to get her attention.

"What the hell are you doing?" Obito screamed frantically. I really hated going against his wishes but I had too. Obito then began running towards us but was stopped by the demon.

"Ha I can't have you interfering." She chimes. I watch in horror as she grabs Obito by the neck and lifts him up into the air; choking him. She then slams him into nearby tree so hard that a loud crack echoes through the woods. My heart throbs and anger boils inside me. I immediately run over to Obito but the damn demon blocks me.

I dodge a few hits and stab her in the stomach earning a pleasurable groan. The demon's face twists angrily and then I hear the chink of metal. A searing pain shoots through me and I look down to see four glinting needles sticking out from my chest. My knees buckle and I fall to the ground. My limbs go numb and my chest gets tighter and tighter.

"Don't tell me...oh no...those needles had poison on them..."

"Oh yes they did. I'm happy to tell you that the poison will kill you in the next hour. And if you somehow survive then you'll just be in a lot of pain." The demon chuckles darkly. My throat felt dry and my heart started racing with panic.

Oh fuck. I've let my guard down. This is so bad. It's up to Obito now.

I wanted to stand up, but I couldn't. The poison had paralyzed me. I felt so helpless. I glance at Obito who is recovering. His neck has red marks on it and blood is dripping down his forehead.

That. Fucking. Bastard. I'll make that she-demon go through hell for laying a hand on Obito.

Poor Kazue stood traumatized watching his brother get beat up by the demon. The demon turned her attention to Kazue and smiled crookedly.

"Ahh the reason I'm here. Now if you go with me peacefully I won't have to force you with pain." I watched as Kazue started backing away; trembling with fear. "Hmm what a stubborn group you three are." The demon simply said as she pointed her knife at Kazue. God I wanted to move so badly. I forced my body to move a few inches across the snow but that wasn't enough. I needed to stand up.

I watched in horror as the blade inched closer and closer to the poor boy, and then suddenly I heard Obito's painful cry and watched as he lunged in front of the knife. And that's when it happened. The blade plunged right into his neck causing him to scream and then faint.

Out of pure rage I threw my dagger at the demon which of course, missed. My heart was now racing so fast, and I was beyond angry and my stomach felt sick with panic. The gruesome image of Obito being stabbed in the throat kept replaying in my mind until I got a grip on reality. Kazue absolutely lost it. I'm pretty sure he used his shadow power for the first time; I could feel the dark energy radiating from him.

The demon noticed and immediately backed away frightened.

"Damn it, I'll have to come back later since you can't control your power yet. You give into emotion too easily. I could get killed if I'm not careful."

Oh so shadow power really does kill demons in the mortal world? Interesting...

I watched slightly confused as the she-demon slunk back into the shadows. Kazue was able to land one hit on her before passing out. Even though the demon was gone now, I was sick with worry.

Are we all just gonna die? It it really gonna end here?

But that's when I heard their voices. They sounded so beautiful. Multiple shouts came from Violet, Mr.Tomiichi, and Fox. Huge waves of relief washed over me, and I was finally able to get my breathing under control. They all ran over to me first, and I just croaked weakly and pointed at Obito. Violet screamed when she saw Obito's condition and even though it was now dark out I could see the glint of tears running down her face.

"Oh my this is so bad. I have no words." Mr.Tomiichi said weakly as he knelt down beside me.

"I-I was poisoned and Obito was st-stabbed in the throat." Mr.Tomiichi's eyes grew wide with worry.

"He needs to be treated immediately. Fox! Over here! I'm gonna need you to help carry Obito back." Mr.Tomiichi then pulled out a small needle and injected me. Within five minutes I was able to move quite normally. I immediately went over to Obito and knelt beside him. I lifted him into my arms and held him against my chest. Blood stained my cloak.

After a minute, I realized that he wasn't breathing, so I checked his pulse and that's when my heart skipped a beat. Obito no longer had a pulse...

A/N: I'm so sorry that this chapter is so short! Originally it was going to be much longer but I made it shorter because I wanted to end with that cliffhanger. I also apologize for taking forever to update I was very sad the past few days so I didn't write much. I promise that the next chapter will actually be quite long and I'll try to get it out quickly! I honestly felt like I did a terrible job with the fight scene but I hope at least someone enjoyed it. Also, I think I'm gonna update my smut book soon because I have a good idea for a chapter that involves Kakashi and Obito fucking in a locker room hehe...
