Budding Friendship

Sangakkara made the arrangements for Riya and admitted her to the International Academics school in Colombo. There Riya was given a room in a hostel and Sangakkara has taken all the financial responsibilities of her. After admitting her into the hostel, Sangakkara left the place. Riya is actually excited at this moment to go to school finally. That night went really smooth for her.

The most awaited day for Riya has finally come. She is getting ready to go to school. Before going to school she goes there to have breakfast in the hostel. Everyone is taking their plates on own and filling it by themselves. This looks strange for Riya as she has been served all these years. She feels shy to take a plate and fill it by herself. So she just stops thereby looking and as everyone is busy going to school, no one noticed Riya.

Suddenly someone is keeping their hands on her shoulder and giving her the filled plate. Riya becomes so happy seeing Maria. Maria was the one who noticed Riya for a long time and understood that she is shy and so she filled the plate for her. Both of them continued talking to each other while having breakfast and Riya also found out that she is going to be the classmate of Maria. Maria told Riya that she can ask her help anytime if she needs it and told her to count on her for anything. Riya was so happy to know that there is someone in Srilanka for her apart from Sangakkara.

They both headed together to class. Riya is so excited about the first lesson in the class. She wants to sit next to Maria as she feels comfortable with her. But there was no space next to her. The teacher made her sit next to one group. That group was so naughty and they always bully the persons. Now Riya is made to sit next to them. Maria was hoping in the heart that they shouldn't do anything to her. Also, Maria wanted to warn Riya about this. But she had no opportunity to explain these things.

The teacher asked Riya to introduce herself to everyone in the class. Riya told them that she is the most loved daughter of the family and she comes from a poor background. She also told them that she is curious and passionate to learn and thanked Sangakkara for granting him the opportunity. The teacher appreciated Riya for taking the bold decision and wished her all the best. Some of them started clapping for her while the rest was quiet. The teacher asked them to clap too.

Looking at the good opinion the teacher had for Riya, that group of people thought that they should make Riya cry to break her confidence and create a bad impression on her. They started speaking to her politely and was getting all the details from her.

They were asking like what do you like and what do you fear and all. Riya gave them all short replies, so they couldn't grasp much about her.

Since Maria was an international level tennis player, she was called for practice by his coach for the next tournament. So she couldn't warn Riya about them. But she was hoping that Riya shouldn't fell into their traps.

Later they had physical training class and this is the class Riya fears for. She loves sports but she hasn't played any in recent times, so she fears her performance. Everyone was made to stand in the line and Riya was following everything that the physical education teacher was telling them to do. But her fear was evident that the group understood how to attack her. Later on, the class got dismissed and school got over.

The next day is going to be Wednesday and every Wednesday the students have to wear white shoes along with special uniforms according to their houses namely Red, blue, yellow and Green. They divide the students into a group and make them play sports to encourage their talents. But Riya doesn't know anything about this.

But some students in the class were passing the comments like they have to make their white shoes ready. So Riya asked that group people whether she has to wear the white shoes tomorrow. They thought of making her tomorrow miserable, so they answered that she has to be only ready with white shoes for Thursdays and that's why everyone is talking about that for the day after tomorrow. Riya believed them.

Later on that night after dinner she was passing through Maria's room. She stopped by there and was seeing her. Maria noticed it quickly and asked her to get inside. Maria firstly asked her whether she filled her plate and ate dinner. She said that she has finished her dinner and asked Maria why she didn't join her at the dinner. Maria told that her practice lasted for long and she ate dinner with her coach.

As they were talking Maria asked Riya how did she feel about the class and school. Riya answered that she feels really good and is excited about more classes. She told Maria that she loved the science class more and hoping to experiment so many things in the future. Maria wished her the best and encouraged her. Also, she questioned her about her classmates in the class. Riya told Maria that everyone was loving and kind. Also, the persons who were sitting next to her Falina, Farina, and Seema were very kind and were clearing her doubts. Maria suddenly understood what they would have done and asked Riya the question that whether she has arranged for her white shoes. Riya got confused and told her that Falina told me that she should be ready with the shoes for the Thursday. Maria then told the truth and asked her to be careful with them. Also, she told Riya not to believe any words from them.

The next day she went to class and these three people were shocked to see Riya in white shoes. They thought that they can make her get punishment by physical education teacher miss Isabelle. But she surprised them with proper shoes. They pretended and asked her why she is wearing the wrong shoes. Suddenly Riya got remembered the warning Maria gave to her and she asked them why are they wearing the wrong shoes. They got silent and irritated. Everyone laughed at them for this. They wanted to plan something for revenge.

Maria was also absent from the class as she was practicing for the next tournament. After the science and mathematics class, they headed to the physical education class. Suddenly the three of them planned something against Riya. They pour easily drying ink on Riya's shoes to make her look untidy and get scolding from the physical education teacher. Also to make the impression that her shoes were already untidy and it didn't get untidy at the moment they especially used the drying ink.

Oh my God! what Riya will do now? Also, Miss Isabelle is so strict, what is going to happen to Riya now and what punishment she is going to get from her? Also, Maria is not there. If she was there we could have expected someone to be on Riya's side. Stay tuned for more updates.
