Obstacles- a way to the path

Two weeks later, on Mumbai Riya was getting ready for a second-round match. Miss Isabelle came to her and told her to focus and give her 100%. She told her that this will be the most important opportunity in her life. Riya nodded and told that she will give her best.

  The race started and various players were also getting ready for the match.  At the start, Riya was focussed and doing well but in the middle of the match, she loosed her concentration by recalling the past moments in her village. Riya was leading but as she lost the concentration, another player named Shreya took a lead and Shreya was going to reach the finish line.

Riya suddenly got her focus back and reached the finishing line before Shreya. So she became the winner of the match and the Indian sports association decided to nominate her name for the race which will decide who will represent India U19 athletics.

Miss Isabelle was so happy and congratulated Riya but Riya wasn't happy. Miss Isabelle told her that the future will make everything perfect for her. After two days Riya is supposed to participate in Quater finals in Kolkata. So Miss Isabelle asked her to get ready for it both mentally and physically. 

Maria called her for congratulating but Riya started crying to her. Maria told her, " See this is the smallest hurdle that you have faced. There are going to be many. After all, you are doing this not only for you alone but for others too. Don't feel guilty. The decision you took was perfectly right. To do something good for others, first, you should do good to yourself. Don't worry about anything. The future will always be the answer to your past if you act properly in the present. If you lose the motivation and purpose now, nothing will become meaningful to the hurdles you have faced for a long time. Already you are in a pain. Don't give more force to the pain. Rather add the value to you by acting on pain and moving forward. I am always happy for you. Keep moving. Congratulations and all the best".

Miss Isabelle and Riya both reached the hotel to relax and get ready for the journey to Kolkata the next day.

Riya was again recalling those moments. The disturbing moment to Riya was: Actually, there were two weeks for Mumbai's race. That's why Riya decided to visit her parent's place. That's why she took protest action too. Unfortunately, there was a call from the competition committee that Riya should be available the very next day that she was supposed to make that protest a bigger one. Riya was called for fitness check before the race as this race was very important for the selection process.

Riya didn't know what to do. She was confused about whether to continue the protest or to leave for the race. She knew that if she leaves the race the biggest opportunity would be gone. Also, she knew that if she leaves the protest people will not believe her and will think her ideology as a waste. She was totally confused and started crying.

During that time there came a call from Sangakkara to just ask about her training for the next race. Riya cried and told him everything.

Sangakkara then asked her why are you crying? She told that her purpose will be destroyed if she leaves anyone of them. Sangakkara then said, " whenever there is a bigger purpose there will be a bigger problem too. Whenever we try to do something new for the first time. There will definitely be an obstacle. The purpose will not be destroyed by obstacles but the way how we react to it. Whenever we are in a situation that if we leave that we will be loosing, there you have to use your intelligence a lot and understand your purpose clearly. Yes if you leave the protest people will not believe in you. But if you leave the race you lose your purpose itself. Today if I say something people take it easy because I am someone famous and trustworthy. Now you may become trustworthy by staying with them in protest but you will not become famous. If you become famous your purpose will not give fruits only to your village but to many. If you stay there you might help your village but think there are many more villages like that in your country. I just leave you with one question. Ask yourself whether your purpose should serve only your village or the whole country? The choice is yours. All the best "

Then Riya understood and decided to take part in the race because she thought her purpose should benefit the whole country. After finished recalling the incidents she thought this is a proper time she should think forward rather than just feeling guilty as Maria said. She understood there will be more obstacles that she would face. She said to herself that she is ready to face anything for her purpose.

Will Riya be selected for the India U19 athletics? Will Riya face some other troubles on her way?
