Never live with weakness but leave the weakness

Riya after bidding Maria went to her room. While she was sleeping, she was thinking about all the things that happened to her. She was full of emotions and was thinking of the way to get over. However, she felt happy for the fact that she has someone special who takes care of her and boosts her up all the time. She was thanking God for blessing her with Maria as her friend. After thinking about these things a lot, she came to the conclusion that she should overcome this situation with a positive approach taking it as a challenge to her.

It was morning at 4.00 a.m. Maria came to Riya's room to wake her up for practice. She knocked on the door and woke her up. Riya found it difficult enough to get up from the bed as she slept late. She told Maria that they can do the practice later. But Maria refused it and told that she can't leave her friend losing like this. Then Riya woke up and got ready for practice.

They both reached the Colombo tennis and athletics training ground where people interested in sports can do their practice in practice free zone. Maria took Riya there on the racing line and asked her to start the practice. Riya started running and felt really slow at the start. She told Maria that she can't do this. Then Maria told her to imagine the way she used to run in the past and win the game. She asked her to reminisce those moments and take motivation from her. Also, she told that she is always there to support her and also she reminded her that Sangakkara would be so happy if you overcome this challenge. Then Riya took these words to her heart and thought that she should never give up.

Day by day her practice became vigorous and dedicated. She did everything she can do to win the race and Maria was always there for her during the practice. She improved bit by bit and was far better than before. Maria was so happy about seeing Riya's progress.

Two days before the race, as usual, Maria and Riya were practicing in the ground. During that time Miss Isabelle passed by her and stopped over there. She asked Riya about the preparation to win the race. Riya told her that Maria has been helping her and she is also been trying the best.

Miss Isabelle then asked Maria to race Riya. Maria was not happy as she knows that she will win and Riya will lose the match as Maria is fast than her. Maria hesitated but Miss Isabelle didn't accept her decision and asked her to race. Riya told Maria that she doesn't have to think anything.

Now the race started. Maria was in confusion about whether to slow down herself allowing Riya to win or honestly run in the race. But Maria went with honesty as she thought that Riya would learn from the mistakes and improve more. Also, she thought to fail before the friend is not bad compared to failing before the one trying to mock her. Maria won the match and Riya lost it. She was a bit disappointed but didn't take it to heart as she just lost to her friend Maria.

Then Miss Isabelle asked Maria to leave Riya alone and told her that she wanted to speak with Riya in person separately. Maria nodded to Riya and left her alone and was waiting for her outside the practice free zone.

Then she told that she would like to share her past to make Riya's future a bit pleasant. Riya shook her head showing the interest. Miss  Isabelle told Riya that she is the Olympics gold medalist in athletics in 2012 and 2016. She told her that she represented her country South Africa and won the medals. She told that what she wishes to tell her is that she was 24 years when she won the first gold medal. She told that she got married early in 18 years because her mother wanted to get her to marry fast as she had some neuro disorder. Her mother doesn't want to leave the alliance and forced her to marry. She also tried fitting in marriage. But she was a very good athlete from her childhood and that's why she refused to get pregnant in an early stage as she was aiming for the Olympics 2008. But it went the other way as her husband didn't agree she became pregnant. Due to her pregnancy, she wasn't able to participate in Olympics 2008. What really made her life miserable is that she found out that her husband is cheating on her and didn't want to live with him anymore. Due to the emotional stress, she had a miscarriage. Now she realized that not only her married life is over, but also the happiness of giving birth to the child. She told that she really pondered over all the incidents happened to her and understood that she is the only person to be blamed for. She told Riya that her mistake was in believing her mother's words by taking her weaknesses the great. Later on, she decided to fight her weaknesses and overcame that by doing the right things. She told then after she went on to win two gold medals in the Olympics 2012 and 2016.

She told Riya that she shared her story with her on purpose. She told that she figured out that her leg was not proper and have some past history. But she told Riya that she can see her improvement literally by her practice. Also told she wanted Maria to race with her so that she could know her weaknesses and improve before the race. She advised Riya not to get distracted by seeing the other person's position as she did when Maria was racing with her just because of her past. She told her to simply keep moving forward until she reaches the finish line. Also, she told that this advice is not just suitable for the running race but also for life. We need to keep moving forward until our goal is finished without any distractions and distractions can be discouragements or overthinking of rewards.

Finally, she appreciated Riya for practicing vigorously and warned her that she will have the race with the most talented athlete Falina who is also her enemy at present. She bid her by saying that "Never live with weakness but leave the weakness". Riya thanked her for backing and told her that she would definitely win the race irrespective of the opposition whomsoever will overtake her. Miss Isabelle wished her the best.

Was it really a big push for Riya coming from her teacher Miss Isabelle. Was Miss Isabelle predictable enough to understand her? Falina is the most talented athlete and Riya didn't even overtake her friend Maria. Then how she is going to win the race and what she is going to do? Stay tuned for more updates.
