[Hidden Room in the Alstis Mansion - Evergreen Village]
[Hakio]
The Chief was glaring at me pretentiously. He was doing it to spur a reaction out of me.
"What did you do?" I asked. The tension I had felt earlier was no longer present.
Everyone seemed to have known that I was being tested and kept quiet about it. They must have been studying my responses better then I was doing theirs.
I looked at Ma. She just smiled at me then gestured with her eyes for me to look at the Chief. Seeing no reason to disobey I look back at the Chief.
He smirked at me and then said, "It's one of my spells. <Rage Taunt>. It allows me to make people angry by over thinking what my facial expressions mean. It wasn't used to its full potential but for someone your age... It should have been devastating." He sounded impressed.
I was too. If he kept going on with it he might have made me angry enough to do something about it. I'm glad he stopped the spell before hand.
I was able to resist that spell, huh?
"That's because Master has gotten stronger now." A recognizable young female voice was heard.
I turned to my right to see that it was Suzu who had just spoken.
I have no idea when she arrived.
She looked back at me and gave a small smile before looking back at the Chief with a glare. The Chief simply smiled at the sudden turn of events. Everyone else also didn't react as much as I thought they would. It seemed as long as what was happening wasn't earth-shattering or life-threatening they would just accept it. Or maybe they found out before hand.
"You all know how First Echelon works. Are you trying to see if I would get angry and use it at random?" I asked and Mr Mordred was the one to answer.
"Some of the elders believe that between the time you spend your days in the village and the time the fight begins you might have an emotional outburst. They are terrified that you might kill some of the villagers to blow of steam." He laughed after saying it. "These are fools if you ask me."
It felt comforting to know that someone else was by my side. But this entire thing was bothering me.
"It sounds ridiculous, alright. But I don't want this village to be jeopardy because of that." The Chief argued. "If you're strength can't be controlled then we are in danger from inside and outside of the village. We cannot risk that."
"But if Hakio masters this ability then we stand a better chance at protecting the village and reducing casualties." My mother was the one who said this.
"I suggest we contain him then." One of the Chief's advisors spoke. "It is better to keep him away from the battle."
"That idea is lacking for many reasons, Sirius. I shall not agree to treating him like a prisoner." Bella defended me.
"First Echelon can happen when the boy gets too emotional. How are we suppose to stop him from getting angry?" The advisor(I assume that his name is Sirius) looked at me after countering the argument. "Can you make that promise, boy? Not get angry -"
"Maybe you should be speaking about what could caused the anger in the first place." Suzu said exactly what I was thinking.
Everyone fell silent and turned to look at the two of us. It was clear from the looks on their faces which group was for and against me helping. Neither party tried to say anything as they watched what was going to happen.
