"So.. your friend set you up with this dude?"

"Yes sir." I said plainly.

"And you went back to his house and things were going smoothly."

"Yes, and he wanted to have sex and I didn't. He tried to force himself on me.. choking me and my dad had always taught how to defend myself. I ended up grabbing his hair, elbowing him in the face and kicking him where..." I paused. "Well, Where the sun doesn't shine. Since I did that I got away before anything else happened." I started to get nervous all over again

"Everything alright Miss Mcclain?"

"I've only told a few people this and I'm afraid, but I don't want this to happen to anyone else." I admitted.

"There's nothing to be afraid of. We will protect you.. What was your friends name again?"

"Brenna."

"Would Brenna mind if we interview her?" He asked.

"She cares about Lauryn and I so I'm sure it won't be a problem." I tried to smile.

"Alright, Thank you Miss Mcclain. We'll probably call you tomorrow  for further questions."

"Okay, Thank you." I exited the room and was greeted by my family and Cameron's family. My dad pulled me into a bear hug and started crying.

"I'm proud of you China Bear." He whispered, causing everyone else to join the hug. I couldn't help but cry.

"That was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life." I admitted.

"Cameron, Maya, we should give them some space." Mr. Vic spoke up.

"I'll see you later, Chi." Cameron hugged me, "I love you." He whispered.

"I love you too. I'll be over later." I reassured him. After Cam had left I got eyebrow raising stares from everyone.

"I'll kick his ass if he hurts you, Again." Dad sighed.

"Nothing is going on you guys." I shook my head.

"That's what you've been saying since you were ten years old." Lou interrupted, "we're done with y'alls bull crap."

"I appreciate the honesty." I broke down in laughter, "Can we go get something to eat? I'm starving and this place has officially given me the creeps." I sighed.

"I'm thinking Texas Roadhouse." Gabe interrupted, he just likes to go there for the rolls.

"This one time Gabe. Just this once." I smiled. I hated Texas Roadhouse but today I was safe with my family and I didn't care about anything else.

"So, I have to testify in court?" I asked. Officer Samuel called me to tell me that we're taking Lauryn's case to court and they are bringing all of the victims to the stand. I refuse to call myself a victim. I'm a person, not a label.
