It was hard keeping my mind off of Void. It had been so long since I'd been with him and then he showed up when I was finally accepting happiness. I finally had Beginning.
However, keeping my mind off of Void was much simpler with the approach of mine and Jimin's one month anniversary. I honestly wasn't not sure if he would think of it or not. I didn't know if he was the type to celebrate that sort of thing. Regardless, I had his present -- or presents -- ready.
Jin had approved them with an imperious nod of his head. Joon had talked about them with me. We'd laid on the living room floor, and discussed the possible reactions. Joon encouraged me. "If nothing else, Jimin seems the type to appreciate the sentiment. But Jimin will probably love it."
So, when the day arrived, I packed up the gifts into a pretty gift bag. The lady said she'd like it if it were given to her. I wasn't sure how much weight I'd give her opinion given she wasn't Jimin, but it reminded me of him and that was the point.
I drove to his work and jogged up the escalator to meet him by the door. The bag was safely tucked away in my backseat. I heard him before I saw him, laughing with someone over something, and I saw his delicate hand wave goodbye as he tiptoed into view like a ballerina in skinny jeans.
I wanted to call him by his name, but I could save that for later. It was enough to see him smile at me and hurry his steps to meet me.
"Hi Yoongi! You didn't tell me you were coming to pick me up," Jimin reached up and hugged him. "Thank you."
"Anything for you Jiminie."
I couldn't help but remember the way Jimin had held me for the first time. Had taken my arm. It was still intoxicating.
"You ready? I want to swing by Jin's for dinner if you're hungry."
Jimin nodded, smiling through his eyes. His small fingers sliding down my arm to grasp mine.
At Jin's I asked him to wait in the car. I had already made dinner, I just left it in the oven under Jin's watchful eyes.
I grabbed our food and hurried back outside, putting it in the back where Jimin could see it and subtly making sure the bag was still between the seats. It was getting dark as I pulled into his parking lot and opened his door. I helped him out of the car and he pulled me down slightly for a kiss. I could feel how red my face was and so could Beginning, I could feel him smiling because of it. I could feel it buzzing in my fingertips, I knew he could to. We were connected.
"Go unlock the door, don't wait for me. I have to fix this seat." I nodded toward the car vaguely, sending him on his way.
"Hurryy, I'm hungryyyy." He groaned, gait stilted and slow.
I waited for him to get inside before I got out of the car, pretending to mess around with the seat. I picked up the gift bag and the food, following slowly. I waited in the hall until I knew he was in the apartment before I hopped in the elevator. A hand grabbed the door and someone slid inside.
"Sorry about that." The man spoke.
Oh. Oh hell no.
"Hoseok?" I managed to keep my voice even.
"Yoongi, oh. I didn't know you'd be here tonight." He smiled. "How fun."
"Of course you wouldn't know, Jimin and I don't tell you our schedules. Why are you here."
"Me?" He laughed and it was familiar in an uncomfortable way. He leaned forward and pressed the floor above Jimin's. "Oh, I live here."
I tried to not be angry. I really did. But standing in the elevator with him without punching him left my blood boiling. I could feel Jimin worrying.
"Excuse me, I have to celebrate an anniversary with my boyfriend." I snipped.
I knew it wasn't very mature, but I was more mature than the most aged cheese and I was entitled to a little immaturity. I stepped out of the elevator and pushed my way into the apartment.
"Fixed it!" I called.
I stowed the gift bag in the closet and made my way to the kitchen. "Jimin?"
The table was set with 2 places, a candle in the center burning bright. "Beginning?"
He wrapped his arms around me and nuzzled his face into my back.
"Happy anniversary! I know it's just a month and not a lot of people celebrate those anymore, but I thought you deserved it. I love you, End."
I turned in his embrace, so happy he thought of me.
"I love you too. Happy anniversary, Beginning."
