Doss was expecting a soft shoulder to cry on when Vaughn came back but she was livid. Doss was not supposed to see Shelly. He was NEVER supposed to see her. A happy welcome turn into endless fights. Even enemies would be scared of what came out of those two's mouth. It was constant and lasted for weeks. Doss moved to the couch and it seemed it would become his permanent bed.
The couple she met was far from the one she saw now. It's like that couple never existed. It brought her back to her childhood when she thought her parents almost got a divorce. She tried to not take sides but she did then and she does now. She was always a daddy's girl. Vaughn would always scrunch up her brows when Perry took Doss's side.
One day after a big fight, Vaughn stopped scrunching up her brows. She went up to Perry and asked, "Why him? You ALWAYS side with him. He might've brought you into the house but I take care of you and I love you. I love you so much. Despite everything I did and do for you, you still treat me this way. Should I really take this sh*t?"
Perry was lost with words. Usually she doesn't have to deal with the consequences of her actions, so she didn't know what to say. Vaughn didn't let her think anymore. She was tired and headed to her room. When the door shut, the whole house shook. Everyone would feel her anger. After that, the house was silent for weeks. It was only due to Vaughn's absence. She left the morning after talking to Perry. She told no one where she was going or what she was doing. No one in the house seemed to mind, they liked the much needed peace.
The house seemed a little bit empty without her. Maybe it was the less home cooked meals. Perry attempted to become the housewife type but she failed miserably. She was just growing and couldn't do as much as she wanted. Then the doctor told her she had to be on bed rest. She was growing as ripe as a tomato and it pained her to only see the walls of her bed.

"I can't be in this bed forever. Let me go anywhere. Just the corner store or something." Perry complained.
Doss fell on the bed next to her. "I don't see a problem. I would rather sit around all day than work."
"Well you can do that and have swollen feet and be tired all the time and not being able to reach the remote because of your enormous stomach."
They both laughed for a small moment.
"I really wish I could leave this bed though. I think I'm dying here." She burst into tears. He held her and told her it'll be alright.
"How about whip cream on pickles?" He suggested.
"That would be great." She chuckled.
Vaughn walked in on them but didn't approach the door. She stared at them deciding if she would interrupt them. They seemed more of the couple then her and Doss did. Still, that was her husband this was her life.
She walked up to the door and cleared her throat. "Am I interrupting something?" Predicting she would catch them off guard.
"Yeah you kinda are. I'm comforting a friend." Doss said with an underlying anger in his tone.
"No it's okay. I'm glad you're back, Vaughn. I really missed you. Come onto the bed with us. Feel how ripe I am. I have never been this huge before haha."
"Okay, I will. At least someone missed me." Vaughn crawled onto the bed next to Perry. She felt her belly and felt relaxed. They acted like a little family and forgot their past feud. A baby was going to enter the baby soon. All their energy had to go to the baby.
And that's what they did. They didn't fight after that. They spent their time baby proofing the house and making sure Perry was comfortable. Doss moved back into the bedroom and the couch was desolate again. The child gave them a safe place from the hardness of life and their problems seemed to disappear in the preparation Everything was riding on the birth of this child.
First time writing in a while, it takes a lot to write this story but don't worry this book won't stay like this forever. A big turn is coming soon. :) Tell me your thoughts and tell me your predictions of this story.
