When Luke speaks, his tone is hurried.
And deadly serious.
"Cole, you need to get out of your house now."
"What are you talking about?"
"Now, Cole. Get your parents and get out of there."

That is right, folks!!! In honor of the one year anniversary of this book and the twentieth chapter, I will be writing this chapter from Luke's perspective!!
Cole had been hiding in the bedroom.
I thought I heard crying.
When she emerged, I realized the tears had been ones of joy.
I hadn't asked her to tell me why she had been crying, and she didn't offer a reason why, but I had a feeling it had something to do with the person on the other end of that phone call.

"Coming out of my cage and I've been doing just fine!" Cole sang, dancing around the apartment like no one was watching. "Come on, Luke!"
Her smile was infectious.
"It started out with a kiss, how did it end up like this?" I joined in, setting my hand on her waist and and dancing with her. "It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss!" We sang together.
It was Friday, also known as game night. Cole, Ashton, Jackson, Alec, Christine, Misha and I were going to meet up at school to watch the home game tonight. I was really excited; I'd never gone to one before this one, even though the season was almost over.
I'd wanted the first one to be with her.
I kissed Cole's cheek and smiled down at her. "You ready?"
She shrugged, but she was failing miserably to hide her smile. "Always. Oh!" She rummaged for her phone. "I was gonna invite Maple, what do you think?" "Can he get in?" I asked. I'd been going to school at RCHS for a while now, but I was still unfamiliar with how everything worked. She nodded. "But because he's not a student, he has to buy a ticket. I've got a twenty in my phone case for food and stuff. He gets a ticket, leaves me with fifteen. But I never typically get anything, it's just a precaution- Luke, what are you doing?"
