".....hmm........Owww....."
Sans opened his eyes with difficulties. He felt sick, everything hurt, he was cold, in short he was not alright. He sat up slowly, wincing a little. He looked around himself, but could not see a thing, beside the patch of golden flowers he was on. "Where am I? Why is it so dark?" As if to answer his question, a ray of light fall on the place, blinding him in the process. When he recovered enough, his eyes widden in surprise and worry. He was in a cave, heavily covered in ivy, half broken pillars on each side of the cave and a gaping hole above him. He remembered Frisk, Asriel and Toriel talking about this place many times, so many that it was impossible for him to foget about it.
"The ruins.... I am in the ruins... How did I end up there?! WHY DID I END UP THERE??!!" Panic overwhelmed him easily, making him huff and sweat. Why and how? Did the kid RESET? No, impossible... They promised to never do that. And if the did, why was he here? He never set foot there, he should be in Snowdin!
"I need to get out of here. But how?" A simple look to the cave's walls told him that he shouldn't try climbing, unless he has a death wish. He looked everywhere, until his eyes fell upon a door. 'Well, there's no other way around except that door...' He got up and walk towards it. When he got there, a particular symbol draw his attention: the delta rune, symbol of the underground, though this one looked...decayed.
(like this, but more or less broken, the shapes looking more eroded)
That was another proof that he was indeed in the Underground once again. Sans tried to ignore the pang of anxiety in his soul, and kept going on.
He arrived in a big room, with a single patch of dry grass. Curious as he was, he got closer to it and was startled as a flower emerged from the ground. "What are you doing here? You should have already passed th- Wait, who are you?" asked the flower. Sans didn't answer. "Hey! Answer when some-" "F L O W E Y" Sans spoke quietly, but the air was filled with hostility. I got into a fighting stance, trying to call out for his magic. "Aahhh!! Waitwaitwaitwait!!!!!" Flowey cried out, lowering itself to the ground. "WHY SHOULD I LISTEN TO YOU?! YOU ARE THE ONE WHO GOT ME INTO THIS MESS!!! This time I will ge- Nggh!!!" Sans could not finish his sentence as he fall on his knees, pain spreading in his soul and body. "Wh...What? My magic? Why....Why can't I use it? Why does it hurt?" Sans tried to breathe slowly, forggeting the flower for a moment. Said flower looked intrigued by that strange skeleton.
"You... Are you okay?" "I...I think so, tha- wait a minute Asriel!" Sans said as he grab Flowey by his stem. Flowey yelped softly, scared by the action, but was struck by a small detail. "How do you know my name? I mean, few knows that my name is Flowey, and even less know that I am Asriel..." "Quit it immediately, I won't fall for your little trick! I know that you are the only one along Frisk who have the power to RESET." "Wait, you know Frisk? How are they? I was expecting them to come by, but it was days ago, and then, you were the one coming here. Now, I really start to worry." Sans looked into Flowey's eyes, and released him, confused by this whole situation. "You...you don't remember me? " Now it was Flowey's turn to be confused. "Should I?"
As Sans was about to reply something, heavy footsteps echoed down the corridor. At this sound, Flowey shook. "Oh no...I completely forgot about her!! Hurry, go and hide somewhere!!" "What? Why should I hide? From whom?" "Idiot! Don't question and as I said!!" But before either of them could react, a tall figure appeared. Though Sans could not see them clearly, he knew who theu were. "Tori!" He said joyful, a smile spreading on his face. 'Finally, someone I can trust!' "I was so worried, you don't know how relieved I-" "You... How did you get here without me noticing it?!" "T-Tori?" She took a step closer, and Sans gasped at what he saw. It was indeed Toriel, but she was different: she wore a black dress torn at the edges instead of her clean purple one, her eyes were red and looked...insane. It was like looking into a mirror: everything looked the same, yet so different and so wrong.
"Tori... What happened to you?" The goat monster looked at him with murderous eyes. "HOW DID YOU CALL ME, YOU MISERABLE WORM??!!" Sans took several steps back, now afraid of his friend. "RUN!!!!!!" Flowey screamed. Sans turned rapidly and tried to run, but he just made a step when he screamed in agony: A fireball crashed into his small frame. "Humph, you're nothing more than free exp, and here I thought you were strong, what a deception." Toriel said before turning. But Sans could no longer hear anything, but the sound of his soul shattering.
..........................................................................RESET............................................................................
Sans shot up with a gasp, immediately looking everywhere trying to spot Toriel, but no one. "What....What happened? Was it...a dream?" "Unfortunately for you, no." Sans yelped as he heard a voice. "Don' t got any closer!!" "Too late for that." The voice was so close, as if... No.Sans slowly turned his gaze to his left shoulder. The flower was here, with it's torn petals and that look of sadness in the eyes. Before Sans could scream, Flowey hushed him. "Calm down, I'm not going to kill you. I could have done it before and I didn't. Besides, I would never hurt a being there."
Sans calmed down somewhat. "Listen closely, skeleton. In this world..." Flowey stopped, looking down, sorrow in his eyes. "It's kill or be killed" Sans looked sympathically at the flower, but he had so many questions to ask. But before he could talk, he noticed Flowey looking at him, mouth gaping. "What? Is there something on my face?" "Your...Your right eyesocket..." Sans reached for it and immediately froze. There was something stuck in it going a little beyond it. A small stem linked to small petals.... A flower?
