(Sorry, I could not find a better picture with both the brothers. In the story, Papyrus is the same as UF Papyrus, while Sans looks different.)
Also, this chapter contains a lot of swearing!
"Sans? Sans, are you alright?" "I need you to help me to figure things out. What Red said first and what I told before dying, I...I already heard that. I an dream, the night before I arrived here. The only differences are that I couldn't recognize the first voice, and the second was Frisk's voice. But I am the one who said Frisk's line, and it was not because I remembered it, it came naturally to me." Flowey listened to Sans for a moment, thinking over it's words. "I think...that it's because you're Frisk." "Uuhh...." "Not in that sense! What I mean is that you took Frisk's place. All we did from the beginning was exactly the same things that Frisk did before. The chain of events is the same. I wasn't sure of it before, but now, whith what you told me, I am sure." "And about the voices?" "Well, when you had that dream, Frisk was still there, so that's maybe why? No, that can't be that simple..." "...Flowey?" "Yes?" "Did...Did your Frisk looked...odd? Changed?" "...Why are you asking me that?" "Because...I wasn't supposed to be the one here. When that portal arrived, it tried to take Frisk away, before I took Frisk's place. That can explain why it was Frisk's voice I heard in my dream."
".........." Flowey was silent for a moment. Before... "I'm sorry." "Huh ? What are you sorry for ? " "You're right, Frisk began to change. The kind child I have come to know disappeared progressively. It was subtil at first, somethings said here and there. Then the annoyance towards some monsters, the venom in their words, the intent to hurt. Then... They killed a monster in the Ruins. They said that they would never do that again, but I saw their gaze. It was empty. They began to complaign about that world, that they wanted to swap places with someone else. they talked about messing with universe's laws. And I didn't do anything. I thought it was just a phase and that it would pass. Then yesterday, they told me that she found a way to trick Fate. They talked about consequences, and that they didn't give a damn about it. And I did nothing, said nothing. Because... I secretly hoped they would take me with them out of this hell... I'm sorry..."
Sans was looking at the snow, before looking sympathetically at the shaking flower. "You did nothing wrong. You couln't have stop them. If they were as determined as my Frisk, then nothing could have stopped them . Don't blame yourself, okay? And, if you can't forgive yourself for that, then I will do it for you." Flowey lokked at Sans, small tears falling silently "Th-Thank you." "Heh, don't mention it. Now, come on, we have an angry skeleton to pass." "*Snif* You're right, let's go."
Back at the gate, once again. But this time... "...He's not there..." "That's... unusual..." "Yeah, that's weird, I don't like it at all." "Me neither, but let's keep going. We need to find a save point, and a place to rest. You didn't sleep since you awoke at the Ruins, so... yeah you didn't sleep for almost a day." "hah, that explains why I feel so tired..." Sans chuckled as he crossed the gate, while Flowey shook it's head in exasperation.
They reached for a strange stand. 'Wait...that's my sentry post. I am in Frisk's shoes, and we just got through the gate, meaning that..." "Ya should prolly hide before my brother sees ya." "AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Sans yelped at both the other him and Flowey's scream. "Wh... Why are you here! You're going to kill us, aren't you?!" The other Sans chuckled at their behavior. "Whoa, ya seem to be quite on edge, sweetheart." Sans sttutered at that nickname as blush spread over his cheekbones. "Wh-why are you c-calling me like th-that?" "Because that's what ya are: too sweet in your soul ta survive in this world." The other Sans answered with a smirk. Sans calmed down and looked into the orher's eyes. "In other words, you think I'm too weak, that I should be better off dead, am I right?" "Yep, totally." "Then, why did you tell me to hide?" The other Sans smiled evily. "Weeell, let's say that I want ta see how far ya can go before ya get killed." "you may be surprised by the results." Sans smiled at the other, who leaned into Sans space. "Oh, I really doubt that...Sweetheart..." Before Sans could reply, a loud voice echoed through the woods. "SANS! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?! IF YOU'RE SLEEPING AGAIN I SWEAR TO ASGORE THAT THIS TIME, YOU WON'T GET AWAY WITH JUST A FEW SCARS!!!!"
