Red stayed like this, holding Sans close under that statue for what feels like days, when in reality it has just been hours. Sans was sound asleep, and would probably stay like this for a long time. To say that Red was worried was an understatement : he was freaking out. Flowey made some conversation with him, to make time passes quicker, but it didn't really work that well. "Did ya notice? " "Hm? What are you talking about?" "The flowers. Before, they would grow when he died, right?" "Yes...?" "Now, they keep growing even if he doesn't die. And now there are these vines, crushing slowly, painfully his bones. He's dying, isn't he?" There was a long and tensed silence, rythmed by Sans quiet breathings. "...I don't know. I hope he isn't, but... I can't help but think that if we don't do something quickly..." Red gritted his teeth, a frown on his face. "It's my fault, isn't it?" "...What?" "If I decided ta tell Sans what I felt when I could instead of porting us back home, then we would probably be at the King's castle already, he would already be at the barrier and be free. But of course, I didn't and now he's in this state because of me, an-" "Stop. None of that is your fault. Now, we should wake Sans up and get going, right?" "Yeah, alright."
Sans had a lot of difficulties to wake up properly, he was still exausted, but didn't complain as they went back to their journey. They were close to the end of Waterfall's area, when Red stopped in front of Sans, shielding him with one of his arm. There, standing proud and tall were Papyrus and Undyne. Sans wasn't that fazed by Undyne's appearance : she was still intimidating, even though she wasn't wearing any armor. Instead, she was wearing a black sleevless tee-shirt assorted to a black torned jean, with red boots and red long gloves. Her hair were messy -unlike his Undyne- and she had an eye patch over her left eye. Her grin was as sharp as sharks : ready to eat you alive.
Though Sans wasn't that shocked, he still took a step back, fearing that version of his friend. Red, however, wasn't scared. Concerned? Yes. Scared? Absolutely not. Angry? Not quite. Furious? How could he do otherwise? "What. The. Hell. Boss...?" "Shut up, Sans. Your brother is doing his duty, unlike you, pathetic whimp, dirty traitor. I can't believe you betrayed us all! And for what, For a weak, foolish monster? For his sake? Because of 'love'?!" "What the hell are ya talking about?" "Oh please, Sans. Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about. You two weren't particulary quiet, and rumors travel far. I still can't believe you fell for that weak monster!" She laughed openly at Red, who was fuming from the inside. " Haha!! And the funniest thing is that you believe he really loves you back! As if someone could ever love you!" "Why not? You love Alphys, so why couldn't I love Red?" Everyone looked back at Sans, surprised. Undyne looked furiously at the small skeleton, who shivered at her gaze. 'That wasn't the smartest thing to say...' "DO YOU WANT TO DIE, YOU MISERABLE COACKROACH???!!!" She screamed as she summoned a red spear. "SANS RUN!!!!" Red screamed at him, but it was already too late.
GAME OVER
LOADING...
*Gasp* Sans clutched his ribs tightly, as pain spread through his whole being. This was much more prowerful than before. He took a moment to catch his breath, then look around him. His eyes widden in worry as he realized something : he was alone. Neither Flowey nor Red was there. 'That's not normal...I hope nothing bad happened to them. Maybe they're around?' He shakily got up, and almost fell bach on his knees. He was weaker than before, if he got into a battle against any monster, he wouldn't even be able to dodge their attacks. He walked for a few minutes, before he fell in a cry. He didn't trip or anything, then... Sans looked at his legs, and barely supressed a scream : his legs were covered by gloden flowers and vines. He tried to move them, but discovered he was unable to do so. Now, he really panicked. He was alone, with weak stats, unable to move, at the mercy of all monsters passing by, who without a doubt won't hesitate to kill him. Tears slowly rolled down his cheeks as he sobbed quietly, trying to see if Red or Flowey was there. He hopped it was just a dream, as he recalled he fell asleep after he saved, but there was no such luck : he was wide awake.
He waited and waited, fighting against sleep and slipping slowly into a panic attack, his cries growing louder and louder, weakly calling out for Red, praying the latter would finally found him. Hours passed, and Sans was closed to passing out. Rustles caught his attention, sending alarms through his tired body and mind. He still couldn't form attacks, he was screwed, he was going to get killed, he'll never see his family, he'll never see Red again, he- "Sans!!! Please, answer us!!!" "Sweetheart!!! Were are ya?!" Sans almost didn't respond as relieved tears rolled down his cheekbones. "I'm here!!" He brokenly answered, loud enough for the two to hear him. Quickly, Red ran to him, relief washing through him as Flowey almost cried of happiness. Sans tried to reach out for his lover, sobs stuck in his throat. Red fell on his knees and collected Sans in his arms, holding him tightly against him, kissing his skull gently. "Fucking hell sweetheart, don't ya ever dare do that ever again. We were worried sick." "Wh- Where were *hic* were you? When I *snif* When I woke up, I wa-as alone!" Red looked at him confused, "Where did ya wake up?" "At the *snif* the statue, hours a-ago." Both Red and Flowey looked at each other, frowning. "Sans, we were at the statue as well, but you weren't there. And it was a few minutes ago only." "How...How can it be?" Sans wiped his tears, and thought for a moment. "Were you immediately sent back to the statue?" "Nah, we fought Undyne for a while, and then we were at the statue." "...So, it means that the reset doesn't affect immediately the world, only me and the closest elements to me, like monsters." "I suppose you must be right. But we have a bigger problem." "Undyne, right?" "Yeah, how are we supposed to get passed her? She won't let us pass that easily." "What do you suggest?" "To fight her for a while, enough to tire her, and then we sprint to hotlands." "I'm not sure. First: it's Undyne we're talking about, she's too strong and would probably kill us before. Second : there's your brother with her. Third : Violence isn't the solution. and four," Sans looked down at his legs, "I can't feel my legs anymore." "What!" "What?!"
Sans showed them his legs. "He was able to walk from the statue to there, but when I reached this place, I couldn't move them anymore." Red looked concerned at him. "That would be a problem." "Nah, I got a solution." "You do? What is- Whoa!!" Before Sans could react, he was on Red's back, legs on each side of Red's waist and his hands automatically reached for Red's collarbone. "You could have warn me!" Sans lightly bonked Red on his skull. "I could have, indeed." Red answered with a smirk. "So, what do ya suggest, Sweetheart?" "To talk to the both of them. That's a tough choice, I know. They probably won't listen to us. Well, mostly Undyne. I don't know why your brother is here, but I know he's on our side." Red looked at Sans, then at Flowey, who slittered back to Sans' shoulder, then sighed. "Okay Sweetheart, let's do that way." "Are you okay with that plan?" Flowey smiled at him. "I followed you from the beggining, I'm not about to let you down now!" "I'll follow ya until the end of the world, love." Sans blushed at that nickname. Red was blushing heavily as well, while smiling lovingly at Sans. "Th-Thank you. Both of you." "Don't sweat it. Now, off we go! We got a fish to take care of!"
Hey everyone! Thank you all for your patience! I want to apologize to you all, because I don't think I'll be able to post four chapters every week-end, not because of a lack of imagination, but because I was tired for a long time, and I'm still tired right now. So I hope you aren't too disapointed with that, but I'll post one chapter per day in week-ends, and I'll maybe try to post 3, but I'm not 100% sure of that. Anyway! I hope you enjoyed this chapter! Comments and question are welcomed, and I wish you all a nice day or night! Bye!
