As soon as the barrier broke, Red dashed through it's remains, carrying Sans. He had to quell a panic attack. 'Sans is still alive.' He reminded himself. 'Sans is still there for now, I have to hurry!' He ran as fast as he could, then something fresh hit him as he get out, and something blinded him. Air and light. But he didn't have the luxury to dwell on that. He had to find someone who could save Sans! He stopped just to look around, and he spotted a small village at the base of the moutain. Would they have the technology to save him? Would the people there be willing to help them? Was it Sans' surface? Those questions crossed his mind, but he didn't pay attention to them. Soon, he reached for the village as the sun started to set. 'Finally! Sans is going to be okay!' No sooner had he stepped into the village, that he heard screaming. Why would they... "Release this monster, you beast!" "Why did you hurt one of your kind?!" "You heartless creature!" Magic was radiated at him, as well as human's weapons. "What? No, I didn't do this ta him!" "You liar! You're covered with his magic! There is some blood on your clothes as well!" "Please! I beg ya! Ya have ta save him! He's dying, and I don't know how much longer he'll keep holding on!" Suddenly, Sans' body seemed lighter to Red, as golden flowers began to fall from his body. The flowers were withered. "...No....No no nonononono!!!! Sansy please, hold on just a little more!" Red turned to the villagers, tears brimming at the corner of his eyes. "Please... Help him... I don't give a damn if ya believe me or not, I don't care about what ya will do ta me, but please...Save him..." His body was trembling, suddenly fearing that they would not help him, that they would let Sans die, because they didn't trust him. It was not logical, but stars, he was so scared, helpless and desperate... But before he could sulf more, he felt someone trying to pull Sans out of his grasp. Flashes of Asgore doing the same thing, of Asgore hurting Sans, making him suffer appeared before his eyes, and he stepped back, Sans still against his ribcage. "No!!! Don't touch him!!" "But...we were just going to get him on a bed so we could heal him! You said it so yourself: he needs help as soon as possible!" "Then I'll go with him! Leaving him alone with strangers is out of question!" Though it was more to reassure himself that Sans would be alright than for the fact that they were strangers. The people looked at each other, before finally giving in. "Fine. Follow us, quickly."
They lead him into a room, into a house. After delicately laying Sans down into a soft bed, humans and monsters alike brought some strange-looking monitors, as well as medicine herbs to some monsters, who were mixing some herbs together. As they connected some wires to Sans' Soul, they forcefully made him swallow the weird potion that was supposed to max Sans' HP out. All that happened before Red's eyes, who stubbornly didn't let Sans' hand go during the process. Red watched anxiously the monitor, praying to the sky that they wouldn't kill Sans instead of what they said. People asked him what happened, why he was in such state, and red answered them, but...he was so numb, so vague... He wanted to fall asleep, but he wouls shake himself awake, not allowing himself to do so, until he was sure that Sans would be alright. Unfortunately, exhaustion coming from his fight with Asgore, his worry for Sans and his rush to get there, all of this got to him, forcing hid body and mind to rest. But he never let Sans' hand go for the life of him. He just fell asleep on a chair, next to Sans.
Red.Red everywhere. There was'nt a single thing in anoter color than this red. There was a light in the distance, one that Red tried to run to, but he couldn't. the red goo was preventing him to do so. 'He's dead because of you..' 'You failed to protect him...' 'You broke your promise...' those familiar, yet unknown voice tormented him, making him shrink and cover his skull with his hands. 'I didn't...I didn't... I did what I could...All I could!' 'Liaaaaaar..... Liaaaaaaaar...' The voices chanted. The red goo was swallowing him slowly, pulling him under it. Red tried to fight back, but flashes came to his mind. Flashes of a dying Sans. Ones of a pile of dust. That was too much for Red. He gave up. He was leeting the reed goo take him away. Then, the light in the distance got closer, warming his bones, chasing away the voices and the goo. Red closed his eyes, feeling...peaceful...happy... 'Red...Wake up...' A soft voice called out . Red felt himself drift away slowly. 'Sans...' ...
