Muffet. Of course. It made sense now. After all, they were close to the CORE, where Muffet usually lived. Moreover, there was the bakery stand, the cobwebs, and so on. But...Something felt...odd. That wasn't the place where you would normally meet her. What was she doing there? "Ahuhuhu~ What's wrong, dearies?~ You look a little shaken up here. Maybe you could use my help? Teehehe!~" "Don't come any closer, ya psycho!" Muffet's smirk seemed to grow bigger at Red's terrified words and his shakings. "Well well, that's not really kind of you, dear Sans. Maybe I should teach you how to be polite towards other?~" At her words, myriads of spider slowly descendedn still on their string of cobwebs. Red silled, his shakings growing more violent, as Flowey was wimpering softly. "Red! Flowey! Snap out of it!" Sans tried to make them react by any means, but that didn't work. "Looks like I'll get plenty of money with you two!~ The threat and the traitor, together in my trap! Ahuhuhu~ I can't wait to tell it to the King, as well as Mettaton's treachery! Fortunately, my spider's net covers the whole Underground, so locating you was easy! Undermining the elevator was nothing but a child's play! Just thinkin about the reward I'll gain makes me so impatient!~ " "Muffet, please! We didn't do anything wrong there! You have to believe me!" "Sorry, sweet, but the only thing worth trust here is money. As well as spiders. And you are neither rich nor a spider, so sorry, but I don't believe you! The King is lucky to have such money! And to think he would give some! Then I'll may finally help all those porr spiders stuck in the Ruins! But, first things first! It's time for dinner!~"
Sans felt sweat slowly rolling on the back of his skull as he saw a giant creature emerging from the shadows, just behind Muffet's back. It was half-cupcake, half-spider. 'Muffet's pet...' Sans had a lot of memories with that creature, and none of them were good ones. And this 'pet' looked particulary violent and...hungry. Panic seized Sans suddenly. 'I didn't save at Mettaton's hotel! That's really bad! We can't afford to die here and now!' Fortunately, they were in a fight, and it was still Rd's turn to do something. Sans' soul radiated a light blue aura, which he used to poor some of his calm and patience onto Red's soul. "Please Red. You need to calm down. You're the only one who can help us. Please..." It seemed to do the trick, as Red's trembling frame slowly camed down, Red's breathing -that quickened without any of them realizing it- stabilized itself as well. Sans gently put his hand on Red's cheekbone, smiling softly to him. "You're okay. I don't know what she she may have did to you in the past, but right now, it doesn't matter. We need to find a way to get out of here without hurting her. But we can do that only with your help. Are you with me on this?" "Y-Yeah. I...I can d-do th-that." "I know you can. I'm with you, okay?" "Okay." Red's voice was steady, just like usual. Relief washed over Sans, seeing his boyfriend regaining his composure bit by bit. "So, what's the plan?" "Can you shield us with bones? So that giant thing won't catch us." "Alright." A wall of red bones emerged from the ground, separating them from the creature, who bumped into the wall, before retreating with a frustrated growl. "How dare you to not let my sweet little brownie eat you alive?!" "What, ya seriously thought we would let him do that without reacting? As if!" "Big words for someone who was stiff as a statue not a minute ago~..."
Red kept deflecting Muffet's attacks as well as her pet for a long time, but Sans knew that he couldn't dodge forever : Red's breath shortened with every miss attacks, and his body slowed bit by bit. They needed an out, but how? Suddenly, Red fell on his knees, dropping Sans in the process, who fall in the cobwebs on his side. "Red!" "Sans! Fuck, I can't!" Red's hands were now glued into the cobwebs. The only one who could do something was Flowey, but he refused to move. "Come on Flowey! Ya have to do something." "B-but...But the...The s-s-spid-der-s-s..." "They're smaller than ya! They're probably more afraid of you than you are of them!" Sans' eyes widden in realization. The Spiders! As Muffet's pet rushed to them, Sans decided to broke and bet it all : "I gave money to one of your spider at a pastry stand!!" Sans hold his breath for what felt an eternity, his eyes tightly closed, waiting for something, anything to happened, mainly for the creature to swallow him whole or in pieces. Yet nothing happened. Slowly, Sans opened his eye, and saw with surprise that the creature was indeed there, but wasn't moving anymore. Was it waiting for Muffet to give him an order. 'Speaking of Muffet, where is-' "What did you say, dear?~" "Aahh!!" Sans yelped at hearing Muffet's voice so close to him. "W-what?" "Not only you seem to be half blind, but you are half deaf as well? I asked you to repeat what you said." By the sound of it, Muffet was just behind him.
Sans wasn't scared of spiders normally, but he wasn't really fond of them either. So when he saw some slowly coming their way to him, he couldn't help but gulp loudly. "Tic...Tac... I 'm waiting~..." "I...I said...that I gave money to one of your spider at a pastry stand..." "What did you buy?" " Nothing, it was too expensive. But I thought that I could give the money I have left to them, that it could be useful to them..." "What kind of spider was it?" "A purple one." Suddenly, in front of Sans, a small spider slowly came in front of his face. It was a purple spider, and Sans recognized it immediately. "H-hey little one..." The spider made a happy noise, before jumping in place to attract Muffet's attention. Muffet bend down and extended her hands to the spider, who hopped in without hesitation. Muffet brought her hands to her ear and was 'listening' to the small spider. After a while, she let the spider go, before exclaiming, "My, deary, why not telling it sooner! Any friends of spiders are my friends! Ahuhuhuhu!~"
Hi everyone! I hope you enjoyed reading the new chapter! To tell you something, I originally planned to write my title in French, for it would fit the chapter perfectly, but I couldn't really find an equivalent in English, so I put it in English, in an approximative way! If some of you are curious or speak French, I wanted to put : Ce n'est pas la petite bête qui va manger la grosse! Anyway, I'll stop being boring and all! Have a wonderful day or night!
