The different Yugas

So, as I told you guys, there are four Yugas, Satyug, Tretayug, Dwaparyug and Kalyug. Satyug means the Yug of truth. In this Yug, rivers were formed. In Satyug, people were free of disease, lust, anger, jealousy and other things. These things started changing as each pillar of Dharma started falling. Tretayug means a Yug with three important events because of the birth of Vamana avatar, Parshurama and Lord Rama in this Yug. In this Yug, people were virtuous and wise. In this Yug, oceans and deserts were formed. Dwaparyug means the third Yug. In Dwaparyug, people started getting diseases. Kalyug means the dark Yug. In this Yug, scriptures got lost and people engage in sinful sexual practices. In Kalyug, people are obsessed with material things, their body, looks etc. After this Kalyug, Satyug will start again.

The Satyug lasts for 17,28,000 human years (4800 divine years), Tretayug for 12,96,000 human years (3600 divine years), Dwaparyug for 8,64,000 human years (2400 divine years) and the Kalyug lasts for 4,32,000 human years (1200 divine years). Why did Lord take so many incarnations in the Satyug and why did the amount of his incarnation started decreasing? Well firstly, it's the period and secondly, it is important of Dharma in that Yug.

At that time, height was measured in cubit. One cubit means the length from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger. In Satyug, people were of height 21 cubits (about 31.5 feet) and it decreases to 14 cubits (about 21 feet), 7 cubits (about 10 feet) and 3.5 cubits (about 5.25 feet) which will decrease to 2 feet at the end of the Kalyug.

The Satyug is the Yug of truth on earth. Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva have taken care that no one ever harasses the earthlings in the Satyug. However, after Satyug, one pillar out of the four pillars of Dharma (righteousness) falls. So, Tretayug has only three pillars of Dharma which reduce to two and one in Dwaparyug and Kalyug respectively. This is the reason why Kalyug is the Yug of darkness and Mahabharata happened at the end of the Dwaparyug, as a lesson for everyone that the Gods exist but unfortunately, they can't do anything to protect mother earth from the cruelty of Kali, the demon king of Kalyug who has mother earth in his claws. So, Lord appeared on earth in yet different forms and other religions like Christianity, Buddhism and Islam were born who can guide the entire humanity, including the Hindus.

In Satyug, average lifespan of people used to be of 1,00,000 years, Tretayug people 10,000 years, Dwaparyug 1,000 years and in Kalyug, 100 years at the beginning but the average lifespan will start decreasing as the end of Kalyug starts to appear closer. At the end of Kalyug, it will decrease to as less as 20 years.

Among the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna seems to have most of the qualities of Lord Vishnu. Like Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna's body has a feminine beauty but when he is angry, the muscles in his body contract, giving him a hard and masculine look. In fact, two more characters in the Mahabharata have this quality: Draupadi and Karna. We will know more about them later.

Also, Lord Krishna used to be surrounded by a divine smell which attracted almost everyone towards him. Again, two more characters in the Mahabharata had this quality: Draupadi( what problems she faced because of that) and Matsyagandha (meaning smell of a fish. Why did she smell like a fish and how did her body start giving off the divine smell, we will talk about this later.) Many women used to be mesmerized by his beautiful form. Almost everyone has heard about Radha Rani. If you want, you can skip to chapter one. It has nothing to do with the actual Mahabharata but if you still want that information, go for it.

Now, this is what I have found while researching more on my culture because of this book. I'm sorry for all this trouble. I realise that I didn't research on these things before I started this book because of the stories but when I approached Krishna, I suddenly didn't know how to explain his raasleela, leading me to have to search for the truth. Now I know that the raasleela is only given in the bhagwad puran and nowhere else and the puranas are written by historians. Even the highly polluted Mahabharat of today doesn't talk about raasleela. Krishna is showed like a playboy through cartoons and animations so that the Sanatanis question their own ideals and readily convert to Christianity or Islam. That's how this adulteration works and I have decided that if I am writing a book, it should be complete.

According to the Vedic information, there are total 14 manvantar. One manvantar has 71 chaturyuga. So, the total chaturyugas is 994. Brahma takes the rest of the six chaturyugas to create the universe. That's how we come to know about the time in which the universe was created and the time when it actually started functioning, that is the time when living beings first appeared in the universe. Right now, it is 7th manvantar going on.

1 manvantar = 71 chaturyuga

14 manvantar = 994 chaturyuga

6 for creation of the universe. Those first three incarnations denote the creation of the earth and placing the earth on its orbit while the fourth and the fifth one denotes extinction of two species, which were quite powerful and giant. You can think of one of them as dinosaurs but then again, this is my theory. Don't think of it as a Vedic theory. I believe that the demons mentioned in the Vedic history are such extinct species too. There are skeletons of giant human beings found all around the globe. Maybe that's what they meant by demons. Who knows? We can just guess.

Anyways, let's move on. One chaturyug means combination of the above mentioned yugas. Chatur means four. So, addition of these Yugas mean chaturyuga. So, one chaturyug is equal to 43,20,000 years.

So, 1 manvantar = 30,67,20,000 years
306,720,000 years for those who have difficulty in following the British system which Indians normally follow.

So, that way, six manvantars mean 1,84,03,20,000 or 1,840,320,000 years and this is the seventh manvantar. Of this seventh manvantar, 27 chaturyugas are over. So, the total years till now, of course not accurate is 11,66,40,000 or 116,640,000 years. Now, you know that this is the kalyug. So, total time since the universe was made is:

116,640,000+1,728,000+1,296,000+864000
Till now Satyug Tretayug Dwaparyug

+5120 = 1,960,853,120 years
Since kalyug started.

Since this universe was created. Now, that's what you call maths. Phew! So, basically I knew half the information of what I know today. Today, no one knows when the universe was created but according to the Sanatan dharm, it was created at this time. You can see how accurate and clearly this thing is given and only the creator of this universe can give something as accurate, precise and wonderful as this.

The Islamic scriptures and the Christian scriptures say that the universe was created six thousand years ago. Some say that the word 'day' has no real definition. I agree with them but when someone can find information as precise and confident like this from their scripture, study it and feel lucky to find such information because not everyone gets this chance. Now, the video says that it's 5118 years since kalyug started. The video was made two years ago and I counted those years too. Hope this chapter helped you to understand how beautiful and precise my culture is because dharm is not yours or mine, dharm is everyone's. Anyone can be a Sanatani and a Christian or a Muslim at the same time. Just follow the Vedas and the teachings of bhagwad Geeta. That's enough to be a Hindu. You can worship Jesus, Jehovah, Allah anyone you want and be a Sanatani at the same time. You don't worship any God and be a Sanatani at the same time. That's how beautiful this culture is.

Now, as you can see, my first part of this chapter was full of fantasy. Height was this much, could live for these many years. I will keep them as it is to tell people on how it is easy for people to get brainwashed in the Sanatan dharm. Things are not the way they are showed. There was a time when I used to believe in these fantasies to the point that I forgot that Brahma is under some specific rules. Our human body is understand specific rules. If it weren't, people would get the boons of being immortal. So, they can't live beyond five hundred years. Five hundred years is the maximum. For some time in my book, you can see how the Britishers and the Muslim rulers have penetrated the books of the Sanatan dharm, to hide the truth and to make fun of these people who think that they're history was fantasy while they took such stories and added them in their books too. These types of stories are found in the puranas, Ramayan and Mahabharat and this book is full of such stories. I have added there here for two reasons, one is that I was ignorant and the second is that they're fun and entertaining 😉
