When I opened my eyes I recognized the meadow, it was the one in my dream ... I had a lot of unanswered questions. Where was I? Would Stoneface come after me as I dreamt? Would I meet Julia? It was the only name I could recall from my past. "Hello? Is someone there? Julia?!" No one answered, but it wasn't the soothing kind of silence. "Brrrr". I didn't know why but something sent shivers up my spine and something was moving in the grass ... "Who's there!" My voice sounded calm, but on the inside, I was far from calm. "Julie ... Julie ... JULIE ...!" Someone had been whispering my name, but now they screamed it at the top of their lungs and then Stoneface appeared and swung his arm to hit me. I wanted to run away or just dodge, but my legs wouldn't move an inch. I closed my eyes and waited for the attack, but it never came. When I opened them someone else had entered the meadow, the newcomer was attacking Stoneface and he was groaning due to all the pain. The attacker was fast, to the point of almost being invisible, and before I knew it she had driven her sword right into the rune on his chest. I couldn't believe what was happening right before my very eyes, the attacker pulled her sword out and Stoneface began dissolving until he was nothing but a pile of dust and stone.
The attacker turned around and smiled at me. She appeared to be around my age, maybe 18. She had to be at least 180 cm since I was 177. She had hair as black as the night in comparison to my light brown hair. What I was curious about was our eyes, they were so similar! Both had moss green eyes with a fiery orange colour around our pupil, although hers seemed to glow much stronger than mine. "You're Julie, right?" Her voice was deep but still feminine. "Yeah, but who are you?" I wasn't really sure how to feel at the moment, but she didn't seem to be hostile. "I'm Julia Nightshade." I opened my mouth to ask if she was the one I always dreamed of, but she cut me off. "In fact, I'm the one you recall from your past, you summoned me, Julie." I glared at her like she was some kind of alien. She smiled in a friendly manner. "Come, I'm sure you have a lot of questions, but we need to move right now".
Strange, I couldn't recall ever setting foot in the woods, yet it felt so ... natural. Like, I knew where to place my feet as we ran ... "Where are we going?" Julia was really swift and I struggled to keep up, and she didn't make it easier for me by keeping silent. "Quiet! They'll hear you." Who? She killed Stoneface, right? I was about to ask her who was following us, but I never got the chance. From that point on everything was chaotic, one second I was running after her, the next something big collided with me. The pain from the collision was immense, I almost lost consciousness. The big thing that collided with me was a giant wolf, but it wasn't soft as "normal" animals were, these beasts hide were harder than bone and it felt as if I had been hit by a train. Suddenly it howled and I had to cover my ears, Julia had swung her sword and inflicted a lethal wound. I finally managed to get up, but my relief was cut short when more of them came running. The beast had red burning eyes and very long and sharp teeth. I would probably be dead had it decided to bite me instead of pinning me down. "Take this!" Julia had drawn another sword and pushed the handle into my hands (something you should never do to a newbie like me since I didn't know anything at all about swords and our lives literally depended on it). Regardless of my inept sword abilities, we attacked them together, and (no surprise) she was much more elegant than me.
