"Julie! Julie!" A large crowd was chanting my name, but I didn't pay attention to them. My eyes were focused on something or rather, someone, a dark silhouette who never turned around, but it spoke to me. "When the time has come you will discover the truth ... I do hope you understand that I have no ill intent towards you or your friends. In truth, I treasure you, when you were born I knew you would be powerful, but you've surpassed my expectations". The silhouette began to laugh, a cold raspy laugh that sent shivers up my spine. "Julie!" Someone's hands grabbed my shoulders firmly and pulled me back. They belonged to a woman. She had purple eyes and hair as dark as obsidian, her hair had a livery shimmer, it reminded me of those nights where the sky was crystal clear and you could see all the stars. "Mom!"
The moment I embraced her, time-warped once again. I was probably 14 by now, sitting on the familiar meadow ... and I wasn't alone. A girl, about 15 years, emerged from the woods, she was smiling and so familiar, but I couldn't tell why. I was spectating from a third-person view, and I knew that the brown-haired girl with those green eyes was a younger me and I also knew that this was a memory ...
"I almost thought something happened to you", I smiled and embraced the girl. "Mm ... you know that I train hard so I can become a guard". I decided to tease her a little. "Are you saying that the beasts are difficult to kill?" I gave her a smug smile. "If they've grown up, yes". She gave me a little smile. "I think ... that the reason I fell in love with you is how you always care for others". We sat down in the soft grass to relax, the lake view was beautiful. "I love you too ..." I leaned forward and kissed the girl, who kissed me back.
"I wish we didn't have to meet in secret ..." The other girl was laying down in the grass, she had closed her eyes and looked almost as if she was asleep. I was about to answer when something howled in the distance. "Plant beasts?" I looked at the other girl, she was already on her feet and ready to run. "No, this is a lot worse. Those howls belong to wolf-like beasts, we need to run! NOW!" I quickly got up and began to run towards the lake. "What's these wolf beasts?" I tried to look behind me, but couldn't see anything, yet ... "They're almost like the plant beasts, but these have been created by Death himself. A bite from them will never fully heal, the pain will be with you for all eternity". We ran even faster and now I could see the beasts. They were just like the ones Julia and I had fought, but they were twice as large. We had reached the lake and dove in, but one of the beast's fangs grazed the girl's leg. It left a little wound and the beast howled and disappeared upon touching the lake water.
