I clenched my fist, not just because of my throbbing foot but also because my life could end in 2 years. No, I didn't want to think about it ... I had to think about something else, maybe more about this crazy universe. "Those wolves ..." I looked down at them, they tried to climb up but they couldn't. "The demons created them from skeletons and earth magic. They won't die from sunlight so we should get rid of them as quick as possible. At least before the birds arrive ... Do you know how to use the bow?" I looked down at the bow in my hands. "Erm ... uh ... maybe?" In reality, I had absolutely no idea and kinda brought it with me just in case ... "I see ... um, I'll try to teach you. Just do as I do". Natasha straightened up and let the arrowhead rest on her bow hand while using the drawing hand to fasten it on the bowstring. Then she pulled the bowstring back until her drawing hand was under her ear. The arrow was too quick to follow but it embedded itself deep in the wolfs skull. The beast howled in pain and disintegrated back to a skeleton covered in dirt. I tried to do as Natasha, but it was difficult with my foot. "You're too tense, relax a little". She gently guided me through it, as if we didn't have monsters after us but it helped a lot. My arrow hit its target and another beast fell.

"Seems like that was the last one". Natasha lowered her bow and seemed to consider the safety of our branch. "It's not safe here ... Julie, get a good grip and don't let go". I must have looked like a big question mark but I did as she told me to. I would do everything for her, though I couldn't tell why. Natasha smiled and slammed her hands down on the branch. A green aura seemed to envelop her hands and the tree began to move. I almost lost my grip, but at the last moment, I regained it. I closed my eyes and prayed that she wasn't making an earthquake or something, but just as sudden as the tremors started they were gone. When I opened my eyes and gasped in surprise and amazement. The branch had changed, it was wider and almost shaped like some kind of bed. "Wha ...?" Natasha gave me a dazzling smile. "Earth magic, it's quite practical when we have to rely on nature". It sounded so cool to be able to control the earth and nature, maybe I could do it as well? Probably not, but I still didn't know the extent of my powers. "But ... can you make those beasts?" The thought just popped up in my head. Natasha seemed a bit hesitant. "I could, but it is considered morally wrong. To acquire one in the right way we would have to find a natural dead animal".

"We can talk more tomorrow. We're probably gonna stay here until noon". I was about to answer when my foot bumped into something. "Agh!" I didn't mean to make a sound, but I did and I felt so embarrassed. "On second thought, I should heal your foot first. At least I can heal it a little. Healing is not something I have an affinity for but the earth can heal you a little". Her hands were so warm, and they weren't soft at all, probably because of her combat training. Her hands were enveloped in that green light again and it filled me with such warmth. All my pain and worries disappeared and I felt so at peace. I couldn't stay awake anymore and I could hear Natasha's voice. "Sleep well, Julie. I'll take the first watch".
