I tried to help Julia in the battle, but after a while, I had to slink back. I had probably gotten in her way countless times, but she did need help ... right? "How can I help you?" I was tired and the sword felt heavy in my hands. "Just ... try not to be ... killed ... okay?" Well, yes, it was a simple task usually. But this wasn't "usual" unless counting giant wolves and swords were normal. No, I had enough on my plate by just trying to avoid them and not cut myself with the sword I received. Julia was getting tired, we had fought them for over an hour. The problem was that we were cornered. I couldn't imagine how we would survive this when she climbed up the tree and signalled for me to do the same.

The view was great and the landscape was truly breathtaking. But I couldn't admire it for long. Julia whistled and out of nowhere a Neovenator appeared, and yes, I could be quite smart ... at least from time to time. I didn't say anything, but my expression was probably quite amusing. The wolves were killed fast and soon it was safe to come down ... at least I hoped so. The dinosaur freaked me out, but Julia was praising it like humans praised their dogs. "How ...?" Dinosaurs weren't supposed to live anymore, they were extinct! "You've never heard about time-travel? Besides, our world isn't bound by the same rules as yours. Timelines merge and split all the time, even ones without my abilities can stumble upon extinct animals ... of course, there are also beasts and such that humans don't have in their world, but ... all those mythical creatures do come from a place ... You should also have your own special powers, but usually, we discover them at a young age and immediately begin training to master them. If you haven't done so, I cannot guarantee what will happen in your future." She said it quite hesitantly, and it gave me the nagging feeling that she knew more about me, but I didn't wanna pry too much.

"What kind of powers? Are you related to me or something?" Silence ... "Won't you answer?" She stopped and looked at me with a serious expression. "No one knows what kind of powers they receive before they discover it themselves, and as of now, I am forbidden from telling you your ancestry." It didn't make sense at all! "Why?" Julia knew why, but ... would she answer me? "It's a journey you need to complete, you can, of course, have travel companions". We walked a bit in silence again before I asked her about the dinosaur's name. "Oh, I just named him Mozart". At first, I thought I heard wrong, but no. She had called this fearsome beast Mozart? I probably looked amusing once again, cause Julia frowned and looked at me with a neutral expression. "What? We do occasionally listen to music from your world, and I absolutely adore classical pieces. Besides, when I found Mozart I was a little child". Even though she tried to remain neutral I could see a faint smile on her lips.

"We're here". Julia stopped and I almost gasped in awe. She lived in a beautiful valley! The houses were little huts, powered by hydropower plants. It felt as if the modern and medieval world had merged and created this village. "This is your new home, but you won't be able to stay long. You need to begin your journey very soon". Right ... the journey ... to find out who I am. I couldn't recall anything at all from my life before high school ... it was really strange, why couldn't I remember something from junior high? It wasn't that long ago, right? The second-year at my high school had just begun. I hadn't been much bothered with it, but ... the way I was involved with this world ... it intrigued me to find out more about my past.
