Julia took us to a metal bunker leading far into the ground. "Wait here". She went inside and I could hear her rummage around. "Try these". She gave us some black clothes, they looked kind of like a light armour. "Any weapon preferences?" She was patiently waiting for my answer ... and I really had no idea how to use a single weapon. "Do you all know how to handle weapons?" I tried to buy myself some time to figure out which weapon I could handle without killing myself by accident. "Yes, we're trained from a young age to handle all different kinds of weapon and hand-to-hand combat. We need to be prepared in case of war or other situations. We also train hard to master our abilities, but that usually takes longer than learning normal combat tactics". My mind was still empty ... but Natasha seemed to know what she wanted by now. "Hunting knife, sword, bow and arrows". The sword was probably heavy ... but I had noticed that everyone carried a sword and a ring containing a coat of arms, symbolizing which family they belonged to. In the end, I asked for the same equipment as Natasha. The sword I received was a black blade with beautiful carvings (that I didn't really understand), interestingly enough it felt right ... as if it was made for my hand.
After saying goodbye and thanking Julia for everything we were ready. "Remember to be cautious and ready to defend yourselves". Julia seemed a bit unsure whether or not she wanted to give me a hug or just a handshake. After giving her a hug I turned my attention towards Natasha. "So ... you been on a journey like this before?" I was adjusting my equipment, but it didn't make it more comfortable at all ... "Nah, but it's a first time for everything". She grinned at me and I somehow felt at ease. She was so familiar to me and yet I couldn't remember her at all. "What happens if we run out of arrows?" I had to focus on my journey and voice my concerns. "It's important that we collect them after battles and hunts, at least if it's possible. Remember that the bow is our best friend when it comes to acquiring food. Oh, but we should get moving, wouldn't wanna stay here the entire day ... although I wouldn't mind". She smiled affectionately, almost as if we knew each other, and I followed her even though I just wanted to run away and blame the world for driving me insane ... but I knew this was my reality, and there was no way back.
