Zak POV

I sat up slowly and rubbed my eyes. I looked around and gasped at where I was.

My room.

My bedroom.

I shout out of bed and ran down stairs.

"Mom?" I yelled, "Dad?"

I heard their voices in the kitchen. I smiled slightly, it's been so long since I've heard their voices. I walked into the kitchen and saw them standing next to the stove.

"Took you long enough to wake up."

I turned my head and saw my sister sitting at the table. I rolled my eyes and sat next to her. My mom approached me, "Good morning sleepy head."

She set down a plate in front of me. It had pancakes drenched with syrup and whipped cream. I smiled, my favorite.

I looked up at our calendar and saw that it was January 17th.

My birthday.

Then I remembered that this was fake.

An illusion.

All I had to do was wake myself up.

But I don't want to.

I don't want to go back to all my problems.

What if I just stayed here?

"Are you okay?" My mom asked me.

My eyes shot up and I smiled.

"Everything's fine." I said.

I took a deep breath.

No.

I can't stay here.

There are people who need me.

My real family.

My friends.

Darryl.

With that I woke myself up.

The white room slowly appeared as I woke myself up.

The first thing I spotted was Vincent's shocked face.

"How?" He mumbled, "How does he do that?"

I raised an eyebrow, "Do what?"

He smiled at me, "You, Zak, are very special."

Before I could reply he yelled, "Finn, crank it up higher!"

I felt a dizzying sensation come over me.

Suddenly I heard what my dad had told me once again:

When someone tries to hurt you, never give in. Make it seem like you gave in and when they least expect it, stab them from behind.

Ahhhhhh

I feel like this is rlly bAd

But I wanted to post something. I'm trying to get back into the habit of posting daily :)
